      Thanks, Fixed

  • Quite attractive price. The SUV looks good but not worth any amount without them revamping their driver assistance system from what I can see.

    • Hardware seems be quite capable (lidar and stuff). Hopefully software will improve through ota

Not sure who in their right mind thought it’s okay to ship a car like this. Hopefully OTA updates are forthcoming to have any market share.

  • Anyone know anything about the engine in the PHEV?

Interested but if it's a Chinese engine I probably wouldn't touch it, whilst the Chinese are proper leading in electric propulsion I would be surprised if their engines are suddenly good.

BYD are fine because they licensed and reproduce Toyota engines.

    • It looks to be a Nissan H15R licensed engine so seems okay.
BYD’s homegrown engines looks to be pretty solid as well, especially if they’re imitating Toyota’s philosophy.

    • Couldn't their engines be Stellantis ones?

No, as barserk said it is a Nissan design. Dongfeng (which Leap has come out of) has JVs with Nissan, Honda and what was PSA (Peugeot-Citreon).

  • Tech looks good but lack of apple Carplay and android auto will put a buyers off, alternatively BYD has upper hand.

  • Well 1500kg towing capacity puts it in a class of it's own for a start!

    • Do you mean the EV model or just price wise? 1500kg is pretty standard for Hybrid SUV, granted they cost more.

      • My assumption they were being sarcastic, as I Started the line with "High spec's"

Even in the BEV space, 1500 kg is nothing to write home about, although this is the cheapest new EV with this rating. Next cheapest is the BYD seal dymanic at $58,990, then (with 1600kg), the Zeekr X RWD at $59,990.

Need to step up to $69,990 to get something substantially more (Riddara RD6 with 3000kg, and that car is not yet being delivered).

  • They only have a 4 year warranty. So any issues after that you have to fight them over the CGA.

    • Correct. Standard warranty 4 year / 100,000 km.

Traction Battery gets a more: 8 years / 160,000 km (whichever occurs first), with a minimum capacity of 70%.
