Nissan Ariya Runout: Engage $45,990 +ORC, Advance $49,990 +ORC, Evolve $59,990 +ORC @ Armstrongs

90

Run out deals on pre-registered 2025 Nissan Ariya (delivery milage only). All prices drive away.

Engage: $45,990
Advance: $49,990
Evolve: $59,990

Armstrong has savings listed at $9k to $20k, but the list prices are a lot higher than that.

Specs available here:

https://www.nissan.co.nz/vehicles/browse-range/ariya/specs-a…

I think the Evolve trim is the pick of the lineup. 87 kWh battery 290 kW AWD drivetrain, 1500kg towing, heated and cooled front seats, Pro-pilot, 1500 kg towing, Adaptive headlights, HUD, Bose audio, 497 km WLTP range etc.

Same pricing area as a higher spec Rav4 hybrid (non plug in), but packing more than twice the power (note the new Rav4 hybrid requires 95 RON, and has a drop in power compared to the outgoing model, in order to meet current emissions standards).

I wound not advise buying an Ariya at full price, but at this pricing, it is an attractive offing (especially for somebody wanting to avoid a china built EV). For comparison other EV prices are here: https://evdb.nz/evs

Ariya is regarded as having one of the better interiors in the market.

Who would buy a Nissan these days?

    • If (when) they go belly up do you think some other Auto maker will buy them (even if it's for $1)?

      what's wrong with them?

Assume you are to the losses Nissan has been making (and the profitability challenges of the wider Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance).

As somebody who grew up in an all Nissan household it has been sad to see the the demise of Nissan. We had a Navara & Primera for my early Highschool years - Learnt to drive in the Navara, and we kept it until the manual gearbox failed at about 350,000km (Two people learning to drive, and spending about half it's life towing may have contributed to that), and had the Primera passed down to me, and kept it untill somebody fell asleep behind me on the motorway…

In my eyes, much of their demise has been due to getting a terrible reputation due to poor reliability of some models of Jatco CVT transmission. Something like the previous generation pathfinder essentially got blacklisted by many buyers on transmission reliability alone.

Models like the Nissan Patrol, and GTR (sadly not out of production) have retained a good reputation.

As a past Nissan Leaf owner, Other than battery degradation / heat management & Poor 12v battery management, it was a really good car. Nissan have solved the battery issue with active cooling in the Airya, and the other issue was less of a big deal.

I think the Nissan brand is Strong enough it will survive this profitability challenge (or it will get brought out), and so peoples warranties will ender.

The Ariya has a reputation of been good, but too expensive. This largely addresses the latter point.

Should note at $46k drive away, buyers will be cross-shopping with models like the Leapmotor B10 & MG S5. Something like a BYD Atto 3 or Toyota bZ4X is at least $10k more.

And for the AWD, this undercuts the BZ4x by $7k, and has a nicer interior too.

The 2025 BZ4X is only $52K right now at Toyota dealers as the 2026 is nearly here

        • Thanks for the head up.

  • Any idea how this drives and handles? Does anyone have any feedback on that? I'm looking at the Evolve. Thanks

    • Sorry, have only sat in one, not taken it for a drive.

Take one for a spin :)
