buy from the outlet store and get something nicer for the money.

    http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/product…

    http://.www.dell.com/nz/p/inspiron-13-5368-2-in-1-laptop/pd

$899 inspiron 13 i5-7200U/256GB SSD/8GB/13.3" FHD Screen 'as new' or refurb for $739 then spend the extra on a 1TB portable.

or the refurb 500 series similar to this SKU thats got 8GB RAM for $639

    • Yeah nicer with the SSD, extra Ram and FHD screen.

Is "As New" meaning it was a returned New Product they are reselling?

      • yes essentially, like a change of mind style return it might have had light use or sometimes it's even unopened(ie cancelled order before delivery to client).

    • Even better is the $749 i7-7500/256GB SSD/8GB/15.6 FHD/AMD Radeon 4GB Graphics Ram, Refurbished.

    • Wow thanks, I didn't know about the outlet store

      • No problem, people are a bit cautious as they are mostly refurbished(repaired/refinished) but often theres 'as new' which is essentially an open box return.

They typically update the outlet stock every monday/tuesday but it's worth checking every business day because they are sometimes snapped up in a few hours for the more popular laptopsie XPS range.

The bottom 2 XPS ones listed there are gone, probably all 3 as that first 2 in 1 512GB price is great.

        • I'm actually liking the specs and the price of the 5000 series you linked earlier, it's even Ubuntu certified so everything should work with Linux.

  • Would these be any good for gaming? Looks like they only have integrated intel graphics chips.

    • Depends. What games? Most games will work, but don't expect anything amazing as far as FPS and performance goes with newer games.

    • The laptop on this post has 2gb dedicated graphics not integrated. But the JB HiFi one doesn't have dedicated. If you don't mind refurbished, as per teckiwi post has some really good deals in their outlet store.

      • Absolutely no problems getting a sweet deal for refurb. Play something older like Doom, or something newer like Mass Effect? I can't see what the actual graphic card is on the specs list.

        • The graphics for this posts deal is:

          AMD Radeon R5 M430 Graphics with 2GB DDR3

But looks like the refurbished deals have some even better specs for the price. If you check out teckiwi link above and one of the columns show the graphics cards or if it is integrated etc.
