Verbatim 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive $5.90 + Shipping ($0 C&C) @ Jaycar

110

Can't really comment about the speed etc but $5.90 for a known brand USB drive doesn't look too bad.

The all new Store ‘n’ Go V3 USB Drive uses USB 3.0 technology for ultra fast data transfer! It's up to 10x faster than USB 2.0, making it ideal for transferring multiple files at once and bulk transfer of information without errors. The retractable design keeps the connector and data protected without the worry of losing a cap.

Features:
- Lifetime limited warranty
- Password protection software available for download (Windows only)

Verbatim is a good brand too, well was 15 years ago.

  • Benchmarks look slow for a USB-3 drive, though about what you'd expect for a low-cost drive:
    https://usb.userbenchmark.com/Verbatim-Store-n-Go-V3-USB-30-…

I'd imagine that for small transfers it would seem quite fast, but when copying lots of stuff it would slow down to about 20MB/sec or slower.

  • Wow, that's a brand I haven't heard from in years.

    • Yes they were very big in the CD ROM writing days

  • Thanks

  • Could really use a USB c one

    • I think Harvey Norman had one for $24.99

      • I highly recommend against the Sandisc ones. I have one and if the connection is tight like a TV for example, it tends to push out the other side so putting it in is a pain.

yea they haven't made guidelines for clearance, i know on mac the usb-c ports are close together so its better to use an extension.
