How does this even work? I mean, surely temu only charges a 5-25% commission on sellers, so how is this affordable?
Are they just buying customers? Seems crazy.
I guess that's common with modern venture capitalist business models.
But I'd rather the crazy billionares subsidised by electricity bill than temu junk…

    • Well as one of the many people who have never had any purchase via them tracked properly - it's probably not costingmuch at all.

And most likely they still got their end. They just don't pass it on for "reasons" (the best excuse they had the time to give me).

Hey i bought samsung ultra $735. It means i can get 50% back ? If not ill cancel my order.

    • +1

Make sure it really is samsung ultra. Lots of listing with dupious descriptions & title. You should be getting ~50% back for sure. Bought a lenovo tablet for $267.5 on last 50% cashback and it has tracked to $109.39. So assuming GST & other charges are removed. But still it's great deal.

      • Sound good. Look like legit seller. Still we have a 3 month if product is not genuine, ill do that if not. Lol

    • Watch? Providing you clicked through from shopback you should get around $320 cashback so will cost you $415 after the cashback.

      • Thank you. Lol. The store call "Hoorizon"

  • Multiple orders allowed for the 80% cashback?

  • Hello! Potentially silly question but when I add an item to cart which already has a discount (i.e. sale from $25 to $15), will this purchase still be eligible for cashback? How about when it automatically adds a 'Bonus Seller Discount" bringing it down to $13?

If I cannot get the cashback due to the above, is there a way to remove the discounts from my cart?

    Thank you!

    • Those discounts should be fine.

  • +1

As long as you dont manually enter a discount code you should be fine.

I tried to place a 2nd order but got this pop up message "Sorry, only new users can get this coupon." Anyone getting the same message? @gotyourback

    • Also got that pop up message, maybe multiple orders now allowed this time round?

      • It mentioned "Capped at $40 per order", so multiple order should be allowed? I couldn't find it anywhere mention it's a new user coupon?

        • Yep you’re all good. It’s capped at $40 per order, so you can make multiple orders and each one can earn up to the $40 cap. It’s not a new user offer or anything like that.

          • +2

@gotyourback: I got the 'new users only' popup on the last promotion, nothing tracked, and my manual cashback request for TEMU got rejected.

Doesn't matter whether on browser or app. Same popup appears.

            • @Wakrak: That's not good. I got the same thing on my second order today. Let's see how that goes.

            • @Wakrak: All 3 of my orders got tracked at 80%

Total of 3 orders for $130.06 and cashback tracked to $86.

              • @ace310: Both my orders are tracked at 75% and 76%. I’m new to this cashback thing. If ShopBack shows they’re tracked, does that mean once the packages arrive I can open them? I don’t have to wait until the cashback is ready to cash out, right?

                • @doubledippps: You should be good, as long as returns/refunds don't mess up anything! Don't think I've had something get rejected after tracking :)

                • @doubledippps: cashback is ready after 90 days. Which means you can't return them after that time. That's the whole purpose of the pending time, so that people don't return stuff and still claim cashback. Cashback can still get rejected after 90 days, but that's the chance you have to take. You can file a claim later if that happens.

                  75% is due to taxes.

          • @gotyourback: Thanks, did 3 orders.

          • @gotyourback: Could you please follow up on why so many people’s orders aren’t getting tracked? Is there any way to find out whether it’s due to user error, so we can avoid it in future orders?

            • @doubledippps: Yep I’m following up on the reports coming through. With Temu the tracking window is up to five days, so it’s pretty normal for orders not to show straight away even if everything was done correctly. A lot of what looks like missed tracking actually pops in once that window closes.

Most of the time it’s not user error. Temu’s tracking can just be a bit slow or batch processed. If something still hasn’t shown after the five days then it’s worth submitting a missing Cashback report so the team can match it up with their logs.

    • I think it should be fine. One of the old thread op mentioned that.

Been smashing this over the last couple of hours so hopefully they all track ok.

Got any recommendations for things to buy? Help me save money by spending money on junk I don't need

      • +3

Can buy some consumable bits, things like magic sponges, tooth picks, pegs or rubber gloves are all good buys. We've taken to buying art supplies from here for the kids as they don't put the lids on properly half the time so it's a waste buying decent ones that get ruined.

Phone cases and screen protectors have been good purchases as expensive ones seem to fail just as fast as the temu ones.

I'm currently using a wallet off there that is also lasting as good as anything I've bought locally in years.

        Microfibre towels

Also got a switch controller from gamesire that was a steal at $65 before the 70% cash back, a $25 rechargable switch controller that's actually a great controller is a very good deal.

        I have ordered -
        - Some plastic boxes to mount PoE cameras on to hold the plug that they all seem to have out the back of cheap ones.
        - car window sunscreen with hello kitty/kuromi and another with lightning mcqueen looking eyes on it
        - another roll of adhesive PVC fake vinyl since I underestimated the needs on a previous order
        - cheap tuya based fingerprint/number code door lock to put on the shed since I never carry my keys when working around the house
        - paint markers, fluro coloured adhesive tape, and some blacklight lamps
        - wall holder for angle grinder and discs, and caulking gun and tubes to tidy up the garage
        - another large silicone mat to put under things in the kitchen - this one 900x600 which will go under my coffee making area
        - fake neon sign shaped like a lava lamp
        - acrylic display box to put collectables in to help prevent getting dusty.

Expect when you buy things. that it WONNT get tracked just FYI.

Never had any problems, then random shit just getting not tracked and then the appeals getting rejected.

    • Return anything that doesnt track.

      • Yeah, that has been my new thing heh.

    • +1

Don't open your goods until it tracks, return any items that don't track within the return window.

  • Accidentally I added one item and then cancelled it. I just realised that doing so made the whole cashback ineligible, so I cancelled my entire order.

    • Don’t stress too much about that one. On Temu NZ through ShopBack it actually works a bit differently. If you cancel just one item they don’t wipe the whole Cashback. They just prorate it which means they adjust the Cashback based on the part you returned

So cancelling a single item shouldn’t make the whole order ineligible. Only the value of that cancelled item gets taken out of the Cashback

      • First time doing it, I've placed an order but realized that anything added to the cart prior to shop back is not entitled to cash back, is that true?

  • Is Temu Circle still available or has that been discontinued?

  • One order tracked and one didn't, unfortunately the latter already shipped. Don't know if it's even worth putting in a claim when it's going to be rejected anyways.

    • Put in the claim and pm OP the details. Nothing to loose unless you want to return the items

  • Seeing others have their 80% cashback tracked where I ordered around the same time due to the deal being only available from 12-4pm so I should have receive a notification around the same time as the others but my transaction hasn’t been tracked yet. Why is it always Temu that has issues with tracking.

Last time I had issues with Temu they rejected my appeal.

    • Did you order on PC or Phone/Shopback App?

      • Phone/Shopback app

        • Same. Up to this point I've only had issues on desktop tracking for Temu but now it seems the app is also unreliable.

          • @Adrenaline: It should have been tracked already like the others who have got their 80% cashback tracked. I highly doubt it would be tracked after 24 hours as it seems everyone got the notification just before 24 hours.

  • +1

    Pretty disappointed with Shopback.
On the last lot of orders (with Temu), only 3 of my 5 orders were tracked and on this latest one neither of my 2 orders are tracked.
I've followed the procedure exactly to prevent my cashback from being tracked and filing missing trackback requests with Shopback has got nowhere.
Out of curiosity, how many people actually get results from reporting missing cashbacks - not many I'll bet.

    • How are you ordering your items? ie I find the best way for 100% success is using the Shopback android app, clicking into Temu, adding to cart and completing the order then I make sure I exit Temu and close the Shopback app entirely before starting another order(I also take a screenshot of my shopping cart before I complete the purchase so it shows I'm inside the Shopback app while using Temu and my active cart for what I purchased incase I have any issues).

Stuff like adblockers etc can cause tracking issues, if using a desktop PC entirely disable domain level adblocking on both Shopback and Temu or disable it completely while doing your purchases..

I would talk to the rep here(gotyourback) as they are more active for resolving your missing cashbacks.

  • Totally understand why you’re frustrated tracking with Temu can be a bit patchy at times and it shouldn’t leave you chasing things up every time.

Missing Cashback reports do get resolved once the team matches them with Temu’s logs it just isn’t instant which makes it feel like nothing’s happening.

If you want I can check your case from my side. Just flick me your ShopBack email and order IDs and I’ll make sure it’s actually moving along 😊
