200

Thats a steal.

Bunnings also has it for 50c cheaper however only certain stores have it, so could ask for JB deal if instore or online via chat - https://www.bunnings.co.nz/blink-outdoor-4-5-pack_p0663025?p…

I have been using the Blink Mini 2's twin pack, its been great so far, night vision is amazing, so is the 1080p quality.

    Also $98 at Noel Leeming

But from my experience, these cams are pretty crap without the subscription. If you use local storage, things are extremely slow and there are crucial features missing. Also, you'll need the premium plan for multiple cameras–$150AUD per year, which is more than what most other companies are charging.

      • +1

So a subscription is definitely required to have more than one camera set up? That kinda kills this for me

        • According to google the sync module 2 included will connect to up to 10 cameras.

        • +1

No you don’t need a subscription. Just set up the included sync module with a usb stick.

      • +1

yes and also if you don't remove the camera off your account when reselling them or gifting them to somebody or you forget your account password or your email gets hacked

        these cameras become paperweights

      • Really? You HAVE to pay for the premium plan to be able to use multiple cameras?

        • +2

Nope. I have them and use a usb stick local storage no issues.

          • +1

@CheapJimmy: Bought some. Pretty happy with them to be fair

      • Thanks, saved me $100

    • That could bring it down to $83.30 at Bunnings if successful in price beating.

But sounds like the ongoing subscription is the killer.

      • That could bring it down to $83.30 at Bunnings if successful in price beating.

Bunnings is 50c cheaper according to OP?

I agree that the subs kill it entirely.

      • +1

Bunnings lowered the price to $97.50 to avoid the Lowest Price Policy.

        • Cool - that's how its supposed to work I guess :-)

Noel Leeming says the 5 pack include the sync module 2 kit.
      https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/p/blink-outdoor-4%C2%A0--5-pac…

"Includes five Outdoor 4 camera, one Sync Module 2 kit, two AA lithium metal batteries, one mounting kit, one USB cable, and one power adapter."

But the JB link doesn't say that I wonder who's correct.

      • It’s the same product. Comes with sync module 2

      • Includes five Outdoor 4 cameras, one Sync Module 2, ten AA lithium metal batteries, five mounting kits, one USB cable, and one power adaptor.

  • +2

Do you still need the sync module?

    • +2

I have got the sync module, which helps with storing recordings locally. It's pretty quick to access the recordings. Few downsides for not having subscriptions for me are:
1 - It distinguishes between human detection and object/vehicle detection. However, it still records all detected activity—only the label changes: instead of ‘human detected,’ it will display ‘motion detected.
      2. Not having the live stream option for all the camera at once, you have to manually open each camera to live view, doesnt bother me
      3. Rapid video access (instantly watch your videos as soon as they’re recorded)
and few other features which i don't need.
So overall i am using it with the sync module and without the subscription.

      • Do we need to buy the sync module separately or is it included on this deal? Thanks

        • Separately
$69 from JB too. Looks to be worth it when used with this

          • +2

@MattNZ: It's included with the 5 pack and can connect to up to 10 cameras

        • +2

          It comes in the pack.

    • +3

      This comes with the module

  • I’m seeing an option for solar panel for the Blink so that I don’t have to worry about AA batteries lasting “2 years”. But I can’t see anywhere if it runs at night with that contraption (does it have an internal battery?!)
Also does this 5 pack come with the sync module?
All the reviews I’ve seen shows that there’s one in the box in USA. But it doesn’t say anywhere on the listing.

  • +1

Yes, as per Noel Leeming Description, it does come with the module.

"Includes five Outdoor 4 camera, one Sync Module 2 kit, two AA lithium metal batteries, one mounting kit, one USB cable, and one power adapter."

Funny, just saw Bunnings have reduce the price to $97.50 so they dont have to price beat the 15% with Noel Leeming. Previously they had it for $98.50.

expensive for a paperweight unless you get a subscription. there’s cheaper cameras with more free features out there tbh

    • +3

      which ones?

      • Not quite as cheap as the $10 kogan ones a couple of years back, my 5 of those are still going strong. They aren't great but $10 they proved that I do indeed like having cameras at home but I'll wire the replacements in if I buy some.

These blink ones are apparently rubbish with home assistant so that's me out. It's low down my list but if reolink have a good deal I might eventually jump on them. It's finding time to cable the darn things though.

  • +3

Thanks - bought a pack to supplement some other (wired) cameras. Figure I can attach to some nearby trees - at this price I am willing to put up with local storage shenanigans. The lithium batteries alone are probably half the price!

    • +1

Exactly what i was thinking, I have others cameras but these are so small and cheap i can attach them to the fence looking at the back of the house instead of another expensive solar camera.

    • Just beware, These lithium batteries are not rechargeable.

      • +1

Yep - apparently they can run on rechargeable batts as well (no doubt with reduced run time).

  • -1

Is this like a cheap inkjet deal? Cheap now cost later

    • +1

It's a combination of razor and blades pricing and clearance pricing. There's a newer model of this product—Blink Outdoor 2K+.

    • -1

Bink security is a product by Amazon. So yes, either that or paying with your privacy.

      • Thanks, was wondering who owns it.

  • +3

Took the plunge given its price and my use case. Won't be getting the subscription. Local sync module is enough for me.

  • +2

I’ve also bought blink doorbell for $39 as well as the camera set cause it can be added to the sync module https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/p/blink-video-doorbell-add-on-…

Bought the last one from Bunnings Christchurch, it seem to be OOS everywhere now except special order from Noel Leeming
