  • Anyone have any experience with what the discounts are like?

    • I just used the code online on a gaming keyboard - got about 30% off. Basically the price it normally goes on sale for so nothing outrageous but at least I didn't have to wait!

  • SuperGold is cost + % + GST
    https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/pages/supergold (says + 10% + GST)
    https://supergold.govt.nz/offers/15608 (#0010000055 is + 5% + GST)

    • how do i get supergold if i am not 65 old?

      • Know someone who is.

        • Anyone here is over 65?

  • Nice share but won't last long, similar to sharing police or csc codes, they will get churned once abused. These codes are for unity members which costs $84 a year and goes to charity.

  • i asked what the price would be for https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/products/samsung-galaxy-watch-ultra… and they came back with $925.30 which apparently is cost+10%+gst.
Sold else where cheaper without 'discount'

  • These '+ cost' deals are so scammy IMO. Zero transparency. I feel like they a predatory and target the oldies who are often much less savvy.

    • 100%

    • Worked for a place that did these sales often, named after a man, maybe two.

Yeah. That 'cost' price would mysteriously change before or around sales

      • The reality is the "cost" can include pretty much whatever the business decides. So you add in all the stuff that it costs your business to sell the product (storage, freight to stores, powers, space, staff) and you get…. Around the recommend retail price.

And of course the "cost" of the product is the list cost, and doesn't include stuff like the kick backs that every supplier gives to their retailers. Which generally includes money back on x number sold (along with a bunch of mid to high end gifts, vouchers, trips, etc. Everyone in my family has at least one expensive as TV/watch/sound system/etc in their house. And gone on some cool trip somewhere)

They should have to give examples of the cost as part of the advertising of these things IMO.

        • I've seen products with higher spivs than margin a few times.

      • Ahh good old LV Martin…

  • I checked the price of the following:

    Samsung 65" S85F OLED 4K Smart AI TV - $2460.15
    Sony 65" BRAVIA 8 4K HDR OLED Google TV (2024) - $3460.05
Samsung 65" QN80F Neo QLED 4K Mini LED Smart AI TV - $1,863.20
    TCL 65" C7L SQD-Mini LED 4K UHD Google TV with Gemini [2026] - $2,385.79
    8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth Controller - $46.16

    • Wow $25 off! What a deal lol

  • Excludes collectable cards :(
