Thinking of handing in my Cheapies badges.

Bought this a week or so ago for $280 something. It is now further discounted. Guttered…

Not sure for how long the discount is for, may only be three hours at the time of writing. Further coupons don't seem to apply at this price.

Received mine today. Looks legit. Positive reviews on this seller and the feedback from OZBargain is positive.

  • I am seeing the price as $226.77

Aliexpress prices are adverised as tax free. When you go to checkout it adds the NZ GST which would bring it to ~$260

      • Oh yea true, forgot abt that. Ah stink lol i thought i was special

use shopback and get 5% cash back

          • +2

@jamesdeal: use shopback and enjoy fighting for your cash back and inevitably coming back to the forums to complain about shopback

            • @chunder: I was told topcashback was good. From experience they register transactions pretty quick but I haven't tried to redeem anything as yet

            • +1

@chunder: really i have used shopback 7 time for cashback and 3 of the times where aliexpress and never had a problem getting my cashback

  • Don't forget to use your favorite cashback to get a few more bucks off…

  • How hard would it be and is it worth upgrading from an 11th gen intel (11400f)? I assume i would need new cpu, mb and ram? maybe cooler? would windows need to be reinstalled?

    • +4

It's pretty easy to put the parts together. Yeah you would need a new mobo, ram and cooler assuming your current one is the stock intel cooler. If you remove Intel specific drivers before the swap, you might be able to get away with the same windows install. Windows is pretty good with managing hardware changes these days.

It's not really worth upgrading, too small of a speed improvement.

Just a heads up userbenchmark is not a good source -for whatever reason they have a strong anti-AMD bias.

        • +1

Interesting to know. Where would you go for proper benchmarks/comparisons?

          • +3

            @Martz5: I recommend tomshardware

          • +2

@Martz5: Hardware unboxed on youtube is good, written form found on techspot.com.au I think

Worst comparison website in the world.

  • A good deal for a mid-range build. Just to be aware for future reference, it's "gutted" https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/gutted

    • Thanks, ever so helpful autocomplete

  • How do you get 261? I get 302 + gst , approx 350.

    • Looks like the price has gone up, was showing $261 earlier

    • Confirm it has gone back up. This is roughly how much I paid but you can get coupons with you it to bring the price down.
      Well, until next time…

Yopu can still get a 14600kf for $247.18 on Ali Express. Which is cpu that performs like this one.

    • It's about $280 with tax and all that. Still a good deal tho compared to the $400 or so locally. I ordered one a couple days ago to upgrade my 12400F. Theyre normally around $300 (before tax) on Ali and I was thinking about getting one at that price anyway so I pulled the trigger as soon as I saw the price drop.

  • I found a listing where it was not as cheap but total landing cost came to 288 however since I bought it was $40 costly just before I could share here. :(

  • Does anyone have advice for finding computer parts deals? I have a aliexpress cpu I'm watching. Also an arc b580 I'm watching the price of. Keen to hear where people are getting mobo, psu, m.2, case and fans from? Is it just pricespy watching?

    • +1

      Just built a new PC.
      CPU from Ali
      Mobo, case from PBTech
      PSU open box from PBTech
      Ram from Ali

No graphics card yet - keeping an eye on OZBargain. Will either be 9070xt or 5070. B580 was looking good for a while, now would go with 9060
