Perplexity AI Pro

Perplexity AI is a conversational search platform that employs advanced language models to deliver accurate answers to a wide range of queries, from the simplest to the most complex. However, it's important to note that the accuracy of its answers is determined by the capabilities of the AI and the data available in its databases.

You will need a VPN that can connect to US-based servers to access this offer.
I've followed the instructions and have managed to get it working on a Galaxy Tab S8+.
You can use any email address to create a new account or apply this offer to an existing account and no payment information is taken.

Steps:

Start by uninstalling the Perplexity app if you already have it.

Step A:

  • Go into your phone's SIM manager and disable all of your SIM cards.
  • Turn OFF mobile data.
  • Turn OFF your location/GPS.
  • Connect to a VPN in the US. Chicago worked through PureVPN, but San Francisco didn't.
  • Go into your phone's App Settings for the Galaxy Store.
  • Press 'Force stop'.
  • Go to 'Storage' and press 'Clear data' and 'Clear cache'.

Step B:

  • Open the Galaxy Store app.
  • Search for the Perplexity app and install it. If you can't see Perplexity in search results, then repeat step A from scratch with a different US VPN location.
  • Open the newly installed Perplexity app and log in to your account (you can make a new one or use your current one).
  • An offer for a free year should pop up (pop-up didn't seem to appear when using an existing account, but still worked anyway).
  • It will show up as a 1-year free trial in your account on the Perplexity website, double check if you didn't get the pop-up.

Step C:

  • Turn your VPN off.
  • Now, do the same thing to the Galaxy Store as before: Force stop, then clear its data and cache.
  • Go back and turn your SIM card(s), mobile data, and location ON.
  • Open the Galaxy Store app one last time to make sure it changes back to the Australian NZ version.

      I think so - I believe it's tied to the Perplexity account once redeemed. Subscription shows up on my Pixel after redeeming :)

    The previous time some European Telco offered similar and got the "pro" account but was disabled by perplexity citing violation of the terms and lost the "pro". Hope will not happen this time.

    anyone had luck with nordvpn so far? i tried multiple cities and the app doesnt show in galaxy store

      that's becase you're detected that you're in NZ. You have to take your sim card out. They're all successuful because they did on their tablets.

        I managed to do it on my Fold4. You can just put the phone on Airplane mode and use Windscribe VPN New York grand central location (free).
        Also make sure to follow the steps and have location turned off.
        There might be a case of using not too old of a phone. I couldn’t do it on my S20FE.

        ok yeah that was it.. i checked the sim had no signal so assumed should be ‘disabled’

    Worked for me too.
    Using my spare Samsung A51 and NordVPN.
    Had to remove my SIM as you can't disable the SIM in SIM manager.
    Also used Airplane mode.
