Just picked one up—thanks! I've always wanted an ultrawide, and this one seemed like a great deal for the specs. Not entirely sure how good it is, but it was hard to pass up.

    • This isn't ultra wide it's a 16:9 ration. You'd want the 34 inch if you're going ultra wide. The 27 will be the same height as the 34 but lack the extra width.

      • Yes, sorry I didn’t include all the details earlier. I was originally looking for a 34-inch ultrawide, but the deal on that one wasn’t great—it’s listed at $439 with the same original price. So, I went with this one instead, even though it’s not ultrawide, because the discount was better. I’ll keep an eye out for a better deal on a 34-inch ultrawide later.

        • Makes sense, I'm considering this following the Samsung pricing error leaving me with a 34 inch and 24 inch 1080p next to it. First world problems I know but the size and resolution difference is annoying me 😂

          • @Everettpsycho: Out of stock now. I was on the verge of adding a second to my order and selling my existing monitor for a similar reason.

            • @dankd: Oh well, this was a bit more than I wanted to spend really so no loss for me. I can't see my driving a 1440p monitor at this frame rate any time soon anyway. My 34 inch is only 100hz and I can't hit that 😂

    • for prebuilt those are not too bad for the price

    • Which of the two would you recommend?

The one that doesn't have the 8gb gpu. Don't buy anything with an 8gb gpu unless you only play Counterstrike and League.

        I'll add a bit more.

The $1500 machine has a Ryzen 7 that has a 31700 score on cpubenchmark, while the $2000 machine has a Ryzen 5 with a score of only 21700, that's 30% less performance from the cpu. The cheaper machine also has double the ram with 32gb compared to 16gb in the $2000 machine. But, the one with the more powerful cpu and extra ram also comes with a very weak gpu.

And to give you some idea how weak the gpu is compared to the one in the other pc, in the Gamers Nexus review for the RX 7600 they benchmarked it against other cards, I'll just give a couple of quick examples of benhcmarks they did at 1440p, Tomb Raider running 1440p, the RX 7600 averaged around 88fps, and while they didn't have a 4070 Super they did have a standard 4070, which averaged 170fps. Cyberpunk running at 1440p ultra, RX 7600 averaged 56fps, while the non super 4070 averaged 84fps. So you're leaving a lot of frames on the floor with the 8gb RX 7600 compared to the 12gb 4070 Super, but then you're getting a much better cpu and double the ram with the RX 7600 machine.

I feel like the video cards should be swapped between the 2 machines, then it would make some sense. As it stands, neither of them are really that great.

This is why most of the time prebuilts suck.

      thanks i bought the 1499 pc to upgrade from my cheap ryzen 5 2400g with 2x 8gb 3200mhz 2x 256gb ssd and 1tb hdd i built in 2018
i only play at 1080p so it will be good enough for me

Oosh, thanks for the heads up. I've been looking for a monitor around $250-400 for a while, but most monitors in that range are really quite bad. This is a genuinely good monitor though, and at that price it's a no-brainer.

Anyone know is this has USB-c for both power and input?

    • +2

Looking at the photos it's a usb b 3.0 port for the usb ports. No usb c at all. It's pretty much a usb hub not a full on docking station.

  • 2k for a pre built with a 4070 super is a steal.

    • What about the $1500 desktop? Worse graphics but better processor and ram.

      • +1

Depends on your needs or mainly your screen resolution. I would much rather pay $500 more for the 4070 super. I know nothing about AMD gpus. Not sure if 16 GB ram is still considered enough but should be fine. Likely difficult to upgrade RAM on pre built on the cheap as might have to buy ram through HP to get the best results.

  • What is the warranty on the prebuilts as when i look it's showing the following info

Standard Warranty INCLUDED0 year (0/0/1) limited warranty includes no parts, no labor and on-site repair. Terms and conditions vary by country. Certain restrictions and exclusions apply.

Any chance someone knows what that actually means.
and yes i probably will contact them if i decide to purchase.
