should I choose between +20fps or 4 weeks rent? hmmmmm

    • +11

Well ur gonna have to pay ur rent anyways but the fps gain is permanent right. So like only a net benefit here ;)

    • Considering the state of RAM for the next few years, a 16GB GPU might actually be a financially sound investment and return a profit when sold.

      • On the other hand, the price of RAM is likely going to lead to lower RAM and VRAM usage in games as developers generally try to develop for the hardware the players are actually running. Those who skimped on a card with lower VRAM might actually get the last laugh this gen.

        • What about everyone who already owns a PC xD

        • Haha.

        • Devs gave up optimising a long time ago, it's going to be very hard for them to start now.

Kia ora OP. Any deals on 5070Ti? Cheers.

    • -1

Lie. 5080 and 70ti using the same chip.

      • But there is more mark up on the 5080 so supply of 5070 ti will be highly constrained so NVidia can make more money for their shareholders.

        • With advancements in technology and improved yield rates, Nvidia will abandon the 70ti that's for sure

          • @ChoiceChips: GPU yield is one thing, but the volatile price fast DRAM is another. It makes any lower end GPU with proportionally higher RAM e.g. 5060/70 Ti 16Gb RAM too risky manufacture.

            • @felixfurtak: Not too sure about that… They are not ordinary consumers, maybe.

            • @felixfurtak: 5060 Ti 16GB and 5070 Ti were both hit with price increases this week.

              • @inthiseconomy: Pretty happy I got my 5070 Ti back in August for $1499
                And 96Gb DDR5 for $450
                And a 4Tb SSD for $350

                Those were the days :)

  • will you have any deals on 9070?

  • Are you able to get gaming laptops? Or is it all pretty much of a muchness re the prices. (Thinking of something with a 5070ti) :)

    • +2

We don't really stock laptops, but I could dropship you one from a distributor. If it's only one unit the price probably wouldn't be super impressive though.
At a glance, for RTX 5070 Ti laptops, we could do Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI Ultra 9 275HX 32GB 1TB RTX5070Ti for $4550 bank transfer price.

  • Hi, how much are you able to get AI PRO R9700 for? It seems like an interesting card to get lots of VRAM, but it's quite overpriced on mightyape and dicksmith…

    • +2

Could put through a special order for one. Estimate would be $3200 for XFX AMD Radeon AI Pro R9700 Blower 32GB.

  • +1

Gigabyte 5060ti is $90 cheaper at pbtech but the asus one is cheaper here

    • +6

That would be the 8GB version you are comparing it to, not the 16GB version.
It is not cheaper at PB Tech.

    • Could do $3750 for the 1TB version.
