Based on the specs alone, the Belkin has a longer battery life and an IPX5 water resistance rating, compared to Xiaomi's IPX4. On the other hand, Xiaomi seems to offer better bass and an overall sound profile (though that's subjective), along with more customizable options through its app. Overall, both are quite similar in performance and are budget-friendly options.
As for my own experience, I currently own the Sony WF-1000XM4, WF-1000XM5, and Technics AZ100 earbuds. I take good care of my devices and prefer not to use my high-end earbuds during workouts to avoid damaging them or get them dirty. A while ago, I bought the Xiaomi specifically for exercise and it was OK. However, the Belkin earbuds in the Ocean colour looks nice, so I just bought a pair as well. I’ll let you know how they compare in real-world use after I've received them.
I cant remember what ones they were exactly (came from cheapies- pretty sure they were Belkins!) but I bought some clearance ear buds from JB HiFi and they were terrible! Because they were so old, the batteries were dead and one just didn't work at all. Returns process was ok and got refunded but still, just wary of clearance earbuds now
Yeah the Immerse ones 46782!
My Samsung Buds+ are getting older, for $25 I am picking these up to see if they would be okay to replace them.
I got my wife a $50 set of CMF buds and was really surprised. There is a few things I prefer on the buds 2 but I wouldn't say it's worth $200 to get them.
I don't like that the buds only sound good with ANC on, my main use is using a single earbud so I can hear what's going on around me but still listen to something. The buds 2 just don't sound good like this while the CMF buds don't degrade quality using one bud.
Another advantage is having a Samsung phone and tablet the smart switching is useful. But I don't think I'll be buying another set when the battery starts to go as other models I could just pair to both devices and live with that.
Wireless charging the case is the last thing I like, just have the habit of once every so often popping them down on the wireless charger and don't even have to think about the battery level.
You do know that with ANC capable earphones you'd have a transparency mode as well? You don't need to just wear one of you want to hear your surroundings
Doesn't solve the issue that unless anc is on on the buds 2 they sound bad. I also find the transparency mode on most sets far too sensitive. My Sony xm4 if I wear them at work pick up people 3 rows away clearly that just having one ear exposed I can ignore much easier. They are a fantastic device in that mode for eavesdropping on conversations but horrific if there's multiple conversations in a space like that.
It really depends. On my samsung buds the transparency mode uses a microphone that specifically transmits noise through to the buds and it has really high noise sensitivity and ruins the music (running water/wind/birds etc become way too noisy but also quite static-y).
I'm guessing the battery is the reason you're wanting to replace them? Just replace the batteries in them. You don't even need to solder, it's all clips and ribbons, the batteries in them are Icr1454s, THESE(ae01.alicdn.com) a smaller version of a watch battery. The only thing is that opening them up will probably mess with their IPX rating, but the buds+ are only rated for splashes anyway, so that's not a huge deal. You can pick up a pair of batteries for less than $10 off Aliexpress and Ebay, even Amazon has them for cheap, then while you're at it you can replace the battery inside the case which is around $10 - $25 depending on where you get it from and you'll essentially have a new set of Galaxy Buds+ for $20 - $40.
Good to know i can do that, thanks.
Batteries are still alright but the Bluetooth connection has always been shacky from day one.Someone got them as part of their phone bundle back when they first launched and sold them to me on GZ.
I might upgrade the buds+ batteries if the belkins are bad.
Picked up a pair tonight, batteries flat out of the box.
Charged up with no issues, tested, both worked fine, sound good to me.
They feel much larger than my buds+ in my ears… not sure if I will swap them as my daily drivers or have a back up / gift to friends/family.
I bought some previously also. There was 3 other people at JB when I went to return them for 1 side not working.
They replaced them easily enough but I made a point of opening them at the counter and even the replacement ones had 1 defective earbud again right out of the box.
that is some bad luck my friend owns these had them for 5months without problems
How is this compared to Xiaomi Redmi Buds 6 Play True Wireless Earbuds?
