  • Might be a silly question, but is PBTech in the official participating list?

    • +1

      Doesn't look like they are:
"Purchase a selected Canon Printer between 25 May and 19 July 2020 from participating retailers (Noel Leeming, Warehouse Stationery, JB HiFi, Harvey Norman, Office Max or Canon Shop) and receive cash back via online redemption."

      • hmmm… have made Canon claims last year without issues. It would suck if they changed it now.

    • +5

should be ok, choose other and specify pb tech. Pb tech are listed as an authorised seller.

      canon.co.nz/support/dealer-locator

This promotion applies to the products listed in these terms that are purchased through Canon New Zealand Authorised Dealers (canon.co.nz/support/dealer-locator) and the Canon Official Online Store (shop.canon.co.nz) between 25th May 2020 and 19 July 2020: (Eligible Product).

      • Ah awesome, it's been a while since I claim Canon cashback. The last time was from JB back in beginning of 2017.

      • Its weird how under the "Find a retailer" section of the Cashback page, Pb Tech doesnt show up as a retailer.
However, if you went to canon.co.nz/support/dealer-locator and click "Find an authorised dealer" section, it lists PB Tech and other stores.

The Terms and Condition this time did state "Participating retailers" and listed a few of them and it isnt necessarily all of the authorised dealers.

"purchased through the following Canon New Zealand Authorised Dealers: Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming, JB Hifi, Harvey Norman and Office Max and the Canon Official Online Store (shop.canon.co.nz) between 25th May 2020 and 19 July 2020: (Eligible Product). "

Seems like they could possibly deny a cashback under these terms though I'm not sure if they would. Pb Tech also isnt very easy to deal with a return as well.

      • that's the terms and conditions for the lens promotion. the printer's t&c are different.

  • in T&Cs:
This promotion applies to the products listed in Table 1 that are purchased through the following Canon New Zealand Authorised Dealers: Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming, JB Hifi, Harvey Norman and Office Max and the Canon Official Online Store (shop.canon.co.nz) between 25th May 2020 and 19 July 2020: (Eligible Product).

Not sure if purchase from PB is Ok

Called Canon NZ and ask if PB Tech is Authorized Dealer for this printer promotion. CS replied yes and entitle for a cashback.

    • Just purchased one and filled in the cashback form on the Canon website. Hopefully they pay

      • I did a claim last year with no issues with my PB Tech purchase. Also alot faster than a Brother cashback.

says 10 in logistic centre available, that will go fast though

      • Out again now

If anybody wants to they could request a price match from Smiths City. I just tried and received an email saying they'll match PB Tech even though PB Tech has no stock remaining.
Not good for anyone in Auckland though as there are no more stores to click and collect from now and delivery fee is $10

I called Canon and the CS lady said they will definitely payout the cashback when purchasing from Smiths City

    • Just a note, last time I purchased a printer through Smiths City it took more than a month to receive the printer. I had to call so many
times to find out what was happening with the order
They even sent it to a wrong address and expected me to sort it out.
    • Great I just received email too do you know if I buy 3 from price match can I claim all 3 with cash back?

      • terms and conditions:
Only two claims may be made per transaction. A claimant (whether an individual or entity) may make a maximum of 4 claims under this promotion and claims will be processed in the order received by the Promoter.

        • Awesome mate! I will order 2 instead!

    cashback denied

I hope this message finds you well.

Thanks for participating in Canon New Zealand’s Cash Back Promotion.

Unfortunately, we are unable to validate Claim ID xxxxxxxx because PB Tech is not an Authorised Dealer for this promotion.

The Authorised Dealers for the Printer Cashback are:

    1. Warehouse Stationary

    2. Noel Leeming

    3. Harvey Norman

    4. JB Hifi

    5. Office Max

    6. Canon Shop

Hey when did you get this email from PB tech? I have applied for cashback straight after but still haven’t heard anything from them yet.

      • +1

Same. I applied for a cashback on 29th March and haven't heard anything from them.
I tried sending an email but still no reply if it's accepted or not

        • +1

I applied on the 30th and received a email from canon on 12/06 confirming my cashback has been approved, the email went to my junk email/spam folder..

    • +1

Did you just accept the no cashback?
I'm yet to hear back from them but I will be expecting a cash back because I definitely checked with the customer service lady before buying and she confirmed.
I also have a screenshot of the T&Cs on the application form saying they will be accepting cashback offers from "Authorised dealers" and PB Tech is listed as Autorised Dealer on their website

      • Someone probably just need to call them and get them to clarify.

      • I have bought 2 from Smith City and they reject the cask back, how did you going with yours

        • +1

My brother who purchased from PB Tech received an email a few days ago saying his claim had been approved.
I'm still waiting for my email. Apparently PB Tech were not originally included in this promotion but Canon are paying the cashback as a once off courtesy.
I don't know what Canon is doing with Smiths City but you should try contacting them about it.

          • @gunman: Yeah if you bought from PBTech you need to email them. They will approve it as a once off, so better than nothing.

  • my bank number ends with 000 but it only lets me put one 0 will it still work?

  • My brother and I both received our $60 cashbacks from Canon today.
