  • I am new to smart tvs. Can someone confirm that this is good tv or not?

    • "Toshiba is equipped with Android TV, Chromecast", Smart TV functionality wise i would say it should do pretty much anything you want…. panel(picture) and audio quality I have no idea thou.

dont buy a tv online if you haven't seen it in person.

      • This is an excellent point; I am not sure which stores have stock and if they have a display of it. Perhaps stock can be checked with the app or by calling the store?

  • I've looked through the web but it is difficult to find reviews for this new TV, I believe it is an overseas model. There was some discussion over in GP Forums when the deal was spotted during Boxing Day: https://www.gpforums.co.nz/threads/488478-Tech-Deals/page265

Yeah only go Android smart TV these days getting a normal smart TV isn't a smart choice.

Exactly, with Android tv you would at least get app updates through 3rd parties (i.e. netflix)
If you have a proprietary os you'd be lucky to get any app updates and it usually means you have to buy a whole new set to get new features in the app (my lg netcast tv doesnt support multi profile in Netflix for example)

  • I bought a Toshiba TV for the inlaws a few years ago, it was pretty rubbish. Wouldn't recommend
