Gearbest is selling this at 436nzd delivered so this is not really a deal.

Why are we allowing these here? They are basically ads disguised as special deals.

    • Gearbest is currently selling them for NZD$436.44 + NZD$28.82 for 15-20 day delivery
      See: https://www.gearbest.com/robot-vacuum/pp_440546.html?wid=21

      • First of all, if you plan to move into the nz market, I would suggest you look into the tax regulations here. It does differ from Australia since there is GST charged on imports that costs more than $400NZD including shipping whereas Aus is at $1000 for now.
Assuming you are a registered Australian business, most likely your Prices include GST of 10% in Australia already which allows you to claim gst back on your sale. If you sell to NZ market at that price, it just means we would end up paying for AUS GST then another NZ GST on top of that.
The most decent thing you should be doing is remove that GST from Australia and ship your items off as Export sale which should be categorised as a GST-Free sale according to the ATO. You would still be able to claim your GST back in Australia when it is a GST-Free sale hence it benefits both ways.

  • Agreed. Have come to a few threads recently only to find other posters finding much better normal deals. Annoying. Ban the spammers.

  • I think person has rightly declared himself associated with that website/company.
So it depends, this kinds of ads should be allowed from associated/store reps.

There are a lot of deals coming on cheapies, which might be cheaper elsewhere but person who posted might not know it.

    • If you are the seller and don't know if your price is competitive in the market maybe don't post it on cheapies? Just saying.

    • We have no issues with store reps posting their deals. However, we accept no responsibility for any flak they take should better deals be found. That is on them. Kind of the point of the performance based ban system. If a store rep has a negative or 0 vote ratio (positive votes - negative votes) their store may be banned from rep posts. As GearBest currently are.

  • lol… at this price… wouldnt there be import tax that we would end up paying once the item hits customs…

    • $465 + 15% GST + $50 IETF/Biosecurity fee, no thanks.

Local stock would be much better.

  • Reviews on their own website look dodgy too. 1st comment - no delivery and no refund, 2nd comment - 79 days no delivery. Looks like a hard avoid.

    • Blame the supplier? Am always hesitant buying from small resellers with no stock in hand.

Well I wouldnt consider buying from this seller since he has a bad reputation on ozbargain and no one there wants to purchase from him anymore… Due to heaps of people not receiving item, 30+ day waits, hard to get refunds also shown on the first few reviews on the page he linked. Buy with caution =)

        • Err whoever downvoted me might want to re-read what I had said. Unless of course you are Roboguy haha

        • @Mulva: lol no idea who downvoted you but as a customer purchasing from a seller. It is the sellers duty to manage their suppliers and make sales only when items are in stock. Thats why there is supply chain management. If the seller cannot provide due to having a useless supplier, then the seller should be considering finding another one. On the consumer's side, if the seller cant provide you with your items on time, then it is normal for the customers to not deal with the seller anymore and find an alternative. There really should be no reason for the customer to blame the supplier at all as that should have been the job of the seller to manage their own supply chain since as the customer we pay a hefty premium for the seller for that service. Otherwise we could just skip the seller and purchase from a supplier ourselves.

Not a deal just normal price and most likely cheaper elsewhere

  • Dodgy seller (as per ozbargain), plus not a great deal either.

  • Price not good.
