    Any specific bargains?

Been a couple posts like this today, we do remove posts that are just placeholders without content. haven't been doing so on Cheapies, since the site is still relatively new, but going forward will start enforcing this.

Have updated the deal to list some of things that I personally think is a good deal.

      • Sweet, thanks mate.

    • I'm curious—how long has this website been going?
      I've only found it recently.

      • Cheapies or PBTech?

        • +2

          I'd assume cheapies.

If cheapies, first post was 23/09/2014.

Sale is instore only so code for free shipping doesn't apply FYI.

    • Oh that sucks, that was me. Won't be purchasing anything from there then haha

      • Yeah this sale is one that is known for people lining up as well so that puts me off even more.

Might swing by if I can see there is no line but there's not much I NEED (Too rational for ChoiceCheapies?).

Some notable deals not included in OP at the moment:

        • Xiaomi Mi 5000mAh Power Bank for $15
        • Apacer Class 10 32GB Micro SD $9.90
        • 3 Sixt Smartphone car mount $4.50
        • Asus Chromebook C201PA $288
        • +1

Haven't seen anything so far to suggest lining up for…

        • @Shaw:

I was adding more deals and you replied so can't edit! I'd say only things are maybe PS4 Slim console 500GB @ $349, or 1TB Xbox One console for $349?

They say they're releasing part 2 of deals later on.

I'd still say this is better than the normal Harvey / JB / Noel Leeming deals, almost all of these prices are historical PriceSpy lows - and stock levels actually look not terrible (Like 10+ PS4's at each store, 30+ of some of the lower cost items showing in stock).

        • @asmcar:

          Haha sorry bro!

Oh no doubt better than what other retailers are offering, but no amazing deals at the same time.

Feel free to add what you wanted to add below and I can put it in your comment above.

        • @Shaw:

Not much more to add to be honest! Hopefully OP updates deal a bit more when they get a chance. Just saw Facebook event has 350 attending with 1400 'interested'.

          • 27" LED ASUS VX279H monitor for $270 which beats next lowest pricespy of $370.
          • WD Elements Portable 1.5TB 2.5" USB 3.0 $90

That's the best of it i'd say until part 2 comes out tonight.

      • They pretty much have the same deals on Monday (Cyber Monday), So if you miss out on something on Friday then try again then. Done this last year with a bunch of things that were out of stock in store on Friday.

        • Nothing better than that sweet sweet free delivery to the door either.

        • The really good deals don't last 'til Monday tho. Happened to me last year.

        • @stinky111: the REALLY good deals sell out two hours before the sale begins.

        • @ClipIt:

Like they used to at Dick Smith?

        • @Shaw:

Ironically a few DSE staff in Wellington have moved over to PB.

        • @asmcar:

Ha, I wonder if the tradition went with them. Glad they were able to find jobs though, some of the staff I talked to were screwed for the short term anyway.

      • But normally they have Cyber Monday where the same deals apply online.
No guarantees that they'll have stock of the more popular items though.

  • 11% off apple isn't bad. Just a warning that in the past PB have done a cyber Monday deal with all the same products online only a few days later.

  • My first Black Friday in NZ, would it be worth my while standing in the line for the Xiaomi earbuds?

    • Not worth standing in line for, that's a pretty standard price. If you can get them delivered for that price (Or walk in store without standing in line) though, then it's not bad. They are $7-$8 delivered from Gearbest, slightly more expensive from some other Chinese retailers, so this is nothing amazing.

      • sorry…I'm just trolling… need to get a ssd as a gift and the mx300 isn't even a deal pretty lame

        • Oh shit, you got me 💪 hahaha

Tried Amazon? Keep an eye on their Black Friday sales.

        • @Shaw:
Got me too… I assumed dryburn was American and thought the value of the earbuds might usually be really high!

        • @asmcar: lol not American… yeah the US has crazy deals hopefully something good will come up on Amazon. SSD or XBox one S!!!

  • Part 2 of sale items is up on bottom of original link.

  • Am considering a GoPro Hero 5 Black.
On sale at PBTech at $579
Normal at say Harvey Norman is $649
Places like Torpedo 7 have it at $585 normally, if you sign up to their free club price thingy.
    https://www.torpedo7.co.nz/products/G6CMCN6HB/title/gopro-he…

Some of the deals are the lowest prices, but not by much if you shop around anyway.

    • +2

Code XF5M99 should give $5 off Torepdo7's price.

      • Thanks, and I guess that's my point right there. Some of these deals are technically the cheapest, but only by a dollar or two.

        • This is the nature of tech, margins are often relatively low so you need loss leaders, supplier rebates or clearance stock to get those deep discounts.

  • T-20min, Hamilton queue already goes through the car park and down the street. Yeesh.

Some decent phone deals there though.

    • Wow….

    • Similar in Wellington, I just drove past and the line is well onto Cambridge Tce around the corner. Wellington store is small too so they won't be able to get too many in.

      • same with the Manukau store drove past at 3pm and people lining outside…

        • Drove into the Manukau superstore (and PBTech HQ). Saw the queue snake around the building almost to the back. Promptly drove out of compound after that, lol.

It was lucky there were traffic and parking wardens directing the cars, otherwise I would have been stuck in there for a while.

  • Went into PB earlier, got a UE Boom and a ChromeCast and a few other things.

Had to que for a couple of hours.

  • Actually had some trouble getting the UE Boom. The special discount was only in one colour, I originally took the wrong colour to the checkout and had to get it swapped after I'd payed and the difference ($40) refunded to me.
