The $25 flat fare from Wellington Airport to the CBD, has also been removed. Any trips on this route will now be priced on regular uberX prices, so you can enjoy your trip, with a few extra dollars in your pocket!
For Auckland, a typical ride from Mt. Eden to the Airport was about $45 where now it is $36.

I thought it was already cheap enough. I've heard that the drop in fare price has coincided with a drop in the requirements for drivers. I'd rather pay more for drivers that are better qualified to drive "taxis" with presumably better knowledge, and I'm happy to pay a slightly higher fair for that. There might be a drop in the quality of the service with drivers with limited experience and poor knowledge of the roads/directions etc.
