  • This will be interesting

  • We're aiming to make things a little easier for SuperGold card holders to get a good deal on their broadband connections. Hopefully this appeals to them.

How much will it be after the first year is up for the $58 plan?

  • Thanks for asking, it will go the standard pricing, which is the no-term pricing. This is only available for a 12-month term.

You missed a few critical details from your description such as:

      • $35 setup fee
      • 12 month term
      • $299 early termination fee
      • Is this BYO Router?
      • Delivery fees?
      • Sure thing! I can add them to the main page for this deal as this is all on the landing page for this deal -

        • can i use my own router?

          • @d8400: You sure can! You will have the choice to get a free rental router (you will need to pay for the delivery fee) or you can choose BYO router. You will see this option when you go through the checkout.

            • @Zeronet: How much are the delivery fees on the free rental router?

              • @bigcheese: It's $15 for delivery and it's set up so that you can just plug and play straight away - it's all configured already.

      • Thank you for the summary. And please add this: 30 days notice
        I won't choose it.

sky is offering 55 per months. no need for gold card.

    https://broadband.sky.co.nz/?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_c…

    • But you need to have sky TV. Otherwise it's $60

      • +4

I was able to get $55 without Sky TV by calling to sign up.

        • Hehe I'm actually paying 50pm. I think they raised the price not long ago

          • @Zyo: also paying 50, but was previously on 45 and negitiated at 50 after the first year.

What if I feel super gold but I’m not even half way there

I didn't realize setup fees were still a thing. I haven't been charged a setup fee in well over a decade, and I switch to a different ISP every year.

    • Why every year? you don't call the ISP retention team and just get the same price?

      • +1

Wholesale rates go up every year, most ISP's don't offer to re-fix the same price on low value/margin plans

      • Every year there's been at least one provider who's had a deal that blows everyone else's out of the water and my current ISP hasn't been able to match it, so I jump ship.

Edit - Just checked, I've switched ISP's 9 times in the past 13 years, so not every year, on average every 18 months, a couple I stayed with for a couple of years, but most of the time I left soon after my 12 months were up.

    • The reason we have to charge a set up fee is because Chorus charge us a connection fee.

      • -1

What if the house is already wired, then no setup fee?

        • If you're set up for fibre that's fantastic! This is to create the connection between our service and the address, using the Chorus line.

  • How to terminate after 12 months? Any other fee? How many days notice in advance? I'm sure I don't want the full price after 12 months

    • You just need to give us 30 days notice if you'd like to terminate your service. The early termination fee is only valid if you are terminating your plan within the 12 month period. Hope that helps.

Zeronet has to be the worst ISP we have been with. Terrible support who didn't know what they were saying. Got fraction of the speed we were paying for. Took fooorrrevverrrr to reply to messages. We took them to Disputes Tribunal and won after they were a no show and several letters to them mentioning the court case. Useless.

    • I had good experience with their speed

Although the router they sent had absolutely no documentation for what the default admin password was. It’s password1 for their MERCUSYS if anyone is googling. When you look up the model that’s also not the default.

      • Hi @Frisky Grandma, sorry you didn't receive the router documentation on how to set it all up properly. We only created the flyer that goes in the router bag at the beginning of last year. Previous to that there was a letter that talked you through the set up steps. Looks like yours wasn't included? The other thing to note on the routers is that we use refurbished routers to save on landfill.

Kia ora, unfortunately we're unable to find any evidence of any Disputes Tribunal cases - i.e. we haven't had any. You may be thinking of a different provider?

      • Unless all of our email records and submission to DT is for another company called Zeronet, then nope - pretty confident I've got the right company. Anyways…

        • -2

@tall kiwi, that is so strange as the leadership team have confirmed that they have not received any correspondence via the Disputes Tribunal. We're happy to look further into this as it's strange that there's no record here of it? We're just unable to as we don't have your account name. We would like to ensure that nothing has been dropped on our end if so.

          • @Zeronet: Lies or ignorance, either way, what a bad look. You paid us for losing it, so you definitely knew about it. You didnt show up for the hearing, though!

Everyone reading, this is a great show of his dishonest this company is to deal with. Don't touch them.

        • +8

          Was it this case?

          • +1

@bigcheese: Hah, sure is. Good find.

            • @tall kiwi: How come it says A Ltd, instead of Zeronet? Does DT guarantee anonymity for all participants?

              • +2

@Liger Zero: You can search the Disputes Tribunal decisions here
I found the case about @tall kiwi with a keyword search for 'internet'
They tend to alter the names of the applicant and respondent in the published decisions.

I will post this every time I see a Zeronet deal posted here. Now, they are on this very post lying about having never been taken to disputes tribunal. Lol.
Do. Not. Touch. Them. It's not worth any amount of cheap internet to risk their terrible service and unfair cash clawbacks.

We received appalling speeds and zero help from them. Terrible customer service and left basically to sort it ourselves - to no avail.
After months of this we found a new provider. I gave I think it was 28 or 29 days notice to Zeronet, they said "ah but it wasnt 30 days! So we'll be charging you the extra month. Also, we'll charge you an early exit fee for leaving the contract a few months early".

I had numerous back and forwards with their awful email contact, which often took DAYS to hear back from and they refused to get on a call to discuss resolutions of payment or discuss issues with the internet. They still insisted I oay both early exit fee and for the extra month of service I didn’t receive. So I took them to disputes.

They didnt even show up to the tribunal, lol.

I won the early exit fee back, the extra month of service charged, AND also 50% of my internet fees back for the 6 months preceeding, because I had such good evidence of the absolutely shite speeds we were getting, as well as many unfruitful attempts to resolve this with Zeronet.

Ouch! Busted. On my avoid list this is why forums are so great.

    • Good job, did they pay?

      • +1

Yeah they paid on the last possible day, they never responded to me about it though. Clearly salty
