70

Saw an ad on facebook and wanted to share.

Looks like Appliance Outlet sells products at multiple conditions: New, Box Damaged, Cosmetic Damaged & Refurbished.
They have an website so you can check out what kind of products are being sold, but the actual closing down sale will be in-store only.

Their address is: 1/335 Ti Rakau Drive, Botany, Auckland 2013

If I go there tomorrow, I'll see if I can post what deals they have

Might be worth it if there are amazing deals, but as I think has been previously mentioned, these are definitely buy at-your-own-risk, as if you have an issue CGA won't apply as the company will no longer exist, and as the majority of their stock is onsold, there will be no manufacturer warranty either (Appliance Outlet often physically remove existing serial numbers off machines because of this).

im surprised they lasted this long, they were in pakuranga before they moved and they were selling at near retail prices without the warranty.

I went there today, not much good stuff left. They clerk gave about 20% off sticker price that was at full retail RRP.
Most of the laundry machines gone, just fridges, freezers and Midea appliances.

I had a look, the rice cookers were interesting but all teflon/aluminium bowls. I don't know if anyone makes a stainless rice cooker, but I would have bought one if they did.

Thanks, just looked them up and I'll add the caveat that the ones at the Appliance Outlet were all induction with various rice type modes etc, which is what made them interesting, then I saw the bowls and moved on.

Looking at this, these guys are like "the inner of our ones are steel then ceramic coated, with possibly an aluminium outer", which sounds fine…until you scroll to the bottom of the page:
        https://yum-asia.com/uk/inner-bowls-of-rice-cookers/

        • Hand wash only or you'll destroy the inner coating
        • Don't dishwash or you'll destroy the inner coating
        • Use only utensils made of dandelions or you'll destroy the inner coating
        • Don't wash rice in the bowl or you'll destroy the inner coating

I don't mind rice sticking, nothing a soak in water after dinner can't fix. I do mind a proprietary bowl rendering an entire appliance useless, though. And I do mind aluminium and thin coatings leaching into food after they get damaged.

I have one of those ultra-wide Instant Pots, and it's good for cooking huge amounts of rice, or cooking some rice bowl in bowl (normal stainless bowl with the rice in it, put on top of the main meal and cooked at the same time) but it's too big for doing like a single cup of dry rice.

Then I just throw the pot in the dishwasher.

Maybe I'll just put the trivet down and use the Instant Pot for bowl in bowl with nothing underneath when I want to do rice only.
