  • The main page has incorrect dates (referring to 2025 where it should be 2026).
It is definitely purchase by 11th Jan 2026 and redeem the voucher by 28/2/2026 which you will see on the separate pages for Large & Extra Large

  • Heh, looks like a new tactic to test the waters on raising prices.

50% the day before, BOGOF yesterday, 40% today, 30% tomorrow.

Another term for this is enshittification, capture market share through low prices, damage the competition, fix a customer base then raise prices.

    • +2

The moment BOGOF/50% on Large goes, I will too.

    • +1

Enshittification is when they make the service worse to increase profits though. This is something much more basic. They were undercutting the competition massively (and still are significatnly cheaper) so it was never going to last.

      • I'd say price increases are worse service, for example, for the same price, you would get less data (Medium or Small plan).

If price increases != enshittification, then Uber hasn't.

Whereas I'd say Uber enshittified by using new pricing strategies effectively raising the price. They still offer the same service.

  • My partner and I switched to Kogan Mobile after the Black Friday "buy one get one free" deal. It came to about $490 for both of us for a year, with 32GB of data per month each.

We were both with another white-labelled One NZ carrier before, so figured reception, speed, etc would be the same, and it sounded like a great deal.

Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. I constantly find myself switching airplane mode on and off to try to get "a better signal" while out and about, and it's nearly impossible to have a video call without frequent interruptions.

My partner has a fairly recent Samsung phone and has never experienced frequent reception issues before, but on many occasions I'll have full 4 bars of 5G while she doesn't.

We're considering switching back to our previous carrier and giving up the 11 months we have left on our plan, so our advice would be to look elsewhere.

We're in the Wellington region and have experienced the issues in multiple towns around the region. We haven't traveled to other regions of the country yet, but expect to do so around the holidays.

    • No problem for me, or anyone else that I know. It's the same network.

    • I'm not impressed by s24 ultra and base versions radios on the One network.

Regardless, I can't recommend Korgan due to their bad porting skills and terrible customer service.

    • We've got two contracts on Kogan and have done for a few years. No issues with coverage on multiple phones over that time.

    • I've been having the exact same issue up in Auckland with an S24, often I'll have completely no signal until I turn flight mode on and off. I don't have another One/One MVNO sim card so can't verify if it's kogan, One or the phone

    • Im in wellington, zero issues and with 5g i used to get dead zones walking around with my last carrier (i actually cant remember who it was as i was changing lots)

    • Weird. I've been with Kogan now for about 3 years I I think. Wellington region. Have used the same number on that connection with a Samsung Note 10+, Fold 4 and 5, and now an iPhone 16PM. During that time I've travelled from the top of the North Island down to the lower South Island. No issues that I'm aware of.

NB: Only one dead zone, which has always been the case on the Hutt train between the Interislander Ferry terminal and Kaiwharawhara.

  • I have an extra voucher code for kogan large yearly plan (15GB), $165, which needs to be activated by 31/12/2025. Anyone interested? I'm happy to sell it through Trademe but the buyer will need to bear the admin cost.
