Ooooh, i got something for 30% off yesterday, now i know they pricematch themselves for 14 days i may go in and get 20% more back

    • That… i didnt know

      • Yeah i only found out recently, so now when i buy something i keep it open in a tab for 14 days and refresh it to see if it goes cheaper. They dont price beat themselves like they do other shops, just match

    • Yup, i got an extra $25 back for my duvet inner the other week.
Also works when they have those 20% extra off clearance stuff.

    thanks, refill soda stream day!

    • +2

Oh Thanks for reminding. Totally forget I have a soda stream

Totally forget I have a soda stream

If you stock up on refills, you could put them with the soda stream, and then promptly forget about those too :-)

    • +1

Oooh, do they discount soda stream refills now? I gave up on them a few years ago as they started putting in their Ts and Cs that they exclude them.

      • Have gotten them recently. They usually have a large stack behind the front counter during the 50% off sale just for this reason

Sorry to disappoint but despite the headline "50% off the entire store" and the T&Cs for this specific event stating:

        • 30% off online exclusive products applies to ‘online only’ products.
        • All other online products are ½ price.
        • Excludes clearance items and the purchase of gift cards.

while the generic Briscoes T&Cs state:

If a storewide base discount of 20% or greater is applied, the following items may be excluded from the promotion or be discounted at a lower rate.

        • Soda Stream Gas Cylinders
        • KitchenAid Electrical Appliances
        • Samsung Whiteware

While the refill price is never stated online the full gas cylinders have been flagged as Online Only products so only attract a 30% discount with no option to click and collect so I suspect instore the refills may be 30% off or possibly less but unlikely 50% off.

If anyone goes instore today and can report back on the actual gas pricing it would appreciated as it's worth making the trip for 50% off SodaStream gas.

        • +2

Yes would also be very keen to hear - last week's massive winter sale had the cylinders for a whopping 5% off!

          • @joshtnz: I've never had them excluded from the 50% off sale before. The 20-30% sales sure but not the 50%.

You can't see the price on their website thought and you also can't see new cylinder price on their website since they're marked as online only so it shows 30% so price matching is difficult or impossible. But instore has always been fine for me

            • @Nil Einne: Just to clarify, youre saying new cylinders can be bought in store as well? Need to grab an extra one

              • @tribernate: Yes you can buy them in store provided they have stock. Can't guarantee they'll be 50% off but since people have reported refills are 50% off fairly sure they will be. By now, they'll probably be out of them in store displays but they normally have them behind the counter for refills and I suspect they'll sell those as new as well although can't guarantee it.

They're now using the epaper/electronic pricing tags so you might have a chance of price beating assuming they update the price tags & you take a photo although will need to go in store and then to Mitre10 & try to convince them so might not be worth it. Wouldn't bother with refills though since very difficult to get evidence and they could argue it's not even required as it's more of a service than a product.

        Confirmed, just swapped 3 @ 13.50 (including 2x old 30L)

      • Can confirm I paid $13.50 per refill (60l screw) at Briscoes Silverdale this afternoon. Their receipts tend to be confusing though as they base it off the price of a new one then $9.50 credit (off $23 for a new one at half price) which totals $13.50. Normal price is $27 according to them which seems about right.

        • Yeah it's always like that. Was wondering if it was wrong at first but did the same calculation & decided it's right

    • +3
      • Thanks ! that is a good price, cheers

      • No this is for the refill , not the bottle ….which means the Briscoes one at $13.5 is cheaper.

        • thanks, I just realise it is exchange..I will go with the Briscoes

Picked up the Breville dynamic duo. Close to its all time low. Now I just need to get rid of the grinder since I already have one. Anyone in need of brand new grinder for cheap?

    50% off Storewide

Yeah right …………….exclusions make that headline WAYYY innacurate. Bait advertising seems rampant these days.

    • +1

      Nothing new for briscoes.

  • +1

Just remember that as always Briscoes takes the piss.

Your "50% off!" product is most likely normally "60% off!" every second week.

  • ATL for the Ninja Slushi at $300, a mate just bought one from Costco for $400 but still unused - will have to return it for one here instead!

You should be able to get it for $255 if you price match @ Mitre10 (and they have stock)

Have tried haha, i think there were only two stores in the country that had em in the Wellington region and they didnt allow delivery outside their specific zones with their price match policy.

        • In stock at Napier, Hastings, Dunedin and Invercargill.

$299 at Harvey Norman. Can get another 10% off at Briscoes with the price beat. https://www.harveynorman.co.nz/home-appliances/kitchen-appli…

      • Yes you can.

      • Dammit. I went into NL this morning to get them to price match as they were closer. Now I'm going to need to go back to NL to return it and go to Briscoes to price beat.

        • $298 at JB Hi-Fi.

          • @Peter Wyngarde: Haha. Already did the return and purchase. Cant be bothered to get the 90c differece if using jbhifi

Confirming I just got soda stream refills for half price - $9.50

    • Awesome! I have around 6-7 bottles to refill.

    • I paid $13.50. receipt was very confusing. Still a good price.

I've just updated the post OP to make this valid until Monday (not Sunday) as per all their ads.

  • Breville Barista Express Coffee Machine BES870BSS is $575 at Briscoes so no price match, is this the cheapest or any way can get it cheapest maybe with codes, free shipping etc?

  • I bought some items last week at 20% off but they are the same price as 50% off today on the website, are they allow to do that?

    • Yes - see their policy here

      • I bought some items last week at 20% off but they are the same price as 50% off today on the website, are they allow to do that?

Yes - see their policy here

I think that's a different issue - Price Promise vs Fair Trading?

        • Sorry - for some reason when I published my comment I must have cut the rest of the text in the middle after I said "Yes". Then I was going to encourage going back to claim the difference as it's within 14 days.

I don't think there's a FTA breach here unless at the time, Briscoes said something like "best price of the year", "lowest price in NZ" etc. Only then would it maybe considered a breach, but if they didn't make any misleading claims at the time they bought when it was 20% off and are just offering a better deal later - they're allowed to do it.

          • @cappylemmy:

… if they didn't make any misleading claims at the time they bought when it was 20% off and are just offering a better deal later - they're allowed to do it.

Okay, and bearing in mind that the comment was made by jaywhytee rather than me, but they said:

I bought some items last week at 20% off but they are the same price as 50% off today on the website, are they allow to do that?

It doesn't sound like the '50% off' is a 'better deal', but rather that the actual price at checkout today (with '50% off') is the same as it was last week with '20% off'.

Implicitly, that means that the percentage reductions are being measured from different starting points (what you might call the 'normal price') only a week (or so) apart.

            • @Alan6984: Oh I misread that. Not defending Briscoes - but if their RRP went up - it could be justified by increased supplier cost, and so the discounts although different, result in the same sale price. If they hiked the price just to apply a bigger discount to make it look better - that’s definitely an FTA breach. Be interesting to know what the product was @jaywhytee

Given that the two discounts (20% and 50%) are only a week apart according to @jaywhytee, personally I think they might have asked a valid question.

  • Ninja Creami Deluxe Ice Cream Maker NC501ANZ at $275

    • $267.291 if you price beat pb tech which is what I did last week

  • remember you can price match at mitre10 im getting soda stream syrup

  • Is the inability to add Sodastream Pepsi Max to cart https://www.briscoes.co.nz/product/1095975/sodastream-syrup-… a temporary sale thing or is it broken?

    • Works fine for me.
Maybe try changing the store and see if that makes a difference?

      • It came back for me as well and thought it was just a weird temporary glitch but not it died again :(

        • When I looked earlier it was available but with low stock or out of stock at a number of stores nationwide.
I would keep checking to see if it comes back online and order for delivery or c&c if it does (use the free coupons)
