  • Also seems the fees are $65 not $55 when checking out

  • Could i get the switch 2 for a discount ?

    • That's what I did with one of the previous deals. Credit came thru to my account about 3 months after purchase.

      • Exactly what I did and the credit came through today

        • What was the final price you paid?

@Elwrold: I did it with purple visa, paid the RRP for the switch on interest free, $55 sign up fee and got my $300 this month. All up the $870 cost me $625. Will be paying off the switch soon and closing the visa down before the annual fee kicks in at the end of the year.

            • @Everettpsycho: Yeah this - you basically get net $245 off whatever you buy as long as it was qualifying spend.

          • @Elwrold: I closed my Purple Visa card today, and basically got a $245 discount once you account for the establishment fee.

Pretty easy process in all. Not sure if gem visa works differently but I might sign up to this deal, too.

Interestingly, when I cancelled the card they offered to reverse the $55 establishment fee if I agreed to keep the card open for another year, so anyone who is thinking of keeping theirs should call up and pretend to want to cancel.

            • @dankd: Do you mind me asking what you said when you were cancelling the card?

Having the $55 establishment fee reversed is interesting, but I'd still probably cancel it since getting the $300 credit ($245) was a pretty good deal anyways, and I don't want to keep the card open

              • +1

@BananaMeadow: After I said I wanted to cancel, they asked if I was planning on making an interest-free purchase in the near future. I said no, and they told me if I did want to, they can offer a reversal of the establishment fee.

Keep in mind if you leave the card open for a year you'll get hit with the $55 annual fee, so I'd only accept that offer if you really do want to keep the card, anyway.

  • Anyone had experience to know if being a previous gem customer in the last 12 months would disqualify you from these deals? Can't find additional T's and C's

  • Make sure you select the 12 months !
