Thought I'd post because it's actually decent, I've just spent about $500 and basically got my tax amount off. I've ordered a bunch of things recently and will arrive within 1-2 weeks easily.

  • What are ya'll buying?

    • Been thinking of getting a new mechanical keyboard, been thinking of the Hi75 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006208945801.html

      • Interesting, did you pull the trigger and buy it

      • Just a heads up you can also search for mechanical keyboards etc on Temu such as this one: https://www.temu.com/nz/goods.html?_bg_fs=1&goods_id=6010995… which cost $58 nzd free shipping.

You then look for Temu coupons online to further bring the price down.

        • Uber late reply but cheers, after an aluminium one specifically as already have one with ABS Plastic casing, will look more

Got me some computer/phone repair parts and a bunch of car & gaming accessories.A new android car headunit too.

Going to order a Mig Switch too. Just noticed they had it listed.

As usual I'd apply caution to buying hdd/ssd/SD/usb for a too good to be true price.

Sometimes, you can get it cheaper without this coupons. Many times I have found it cheaper by doing below thing. Only downside is you can't order different items in same order, but I don't mind.

    • Add the item to your cart. Then navigate to the coins "Discount finder" and check the discount when you "Buy now". (The coins discount is greater if you navigate to a item from the coins page 2x+). You will see same product offered by different sellers. Look for 10%/11% extra off with coins.

Also, if possible always buy in USD and use your wise/revolut or other good exchange rate cc for currency conversion. This can save few dollars/$100 for sure.

    • Also make sure to use PayPal just in case something goes wrong

      • Have been using Aliexpress for almost 6-8 yrs now and bought $1000s worth of items including expensive security cams without any issues so far. Paypal is good on the protection but their exchange rates are notoriously high. Not sure if you can pay in USD from NZ paypal account without them doing the conversion.

You can, I pay in USD using my Wise card through PayPal all the time.

          • @coach: So you have NZ paypal and paypal don't charge any extra charge? If so, I will try this next time.

            • @ace310: Yes that's correct, you just tell PayPal to pay in USD

Yes, a NZ PayPal account where the store currency is in USD and the card accepts payments in USD. Make sure the final screen on PayPal shows the value in USD and not NZD. I have two Wise cards linked to PayPal, one virtual one is set to USD the other is in NZD.

  • (A post script sort of comment. I ordered a few light weight smallish items ($65 NZ in total), on may 3rd. With the discount code, coins and some of it "choice" offers. All in saved close to the NZ Get stuffed Tax sum. But wow the standard China shipping service shipping speed to delivery here in Auckland City was extraordinary !. It took just 7 days from inside China to my PO Box !!!…☺️).

I am also impressed with China-nz shipping duration. Ordered something from a NZ retailer the same time and the China item arrived sooner πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚
