  OP - This was on an Amazon US account and not Amazon AU?
  What currency is the $10 you received?

    Normally you receive the same currency credit based on the Amazon region. So i believe it would be USD if this is on Amazon US

  Seemed to work for me - it said I got $10 credit and I also got an email, with a link to 'Redeem your credit code here'.

  However, where do I see that? I'm probably being a bit dim here, but I can't find anywhere to show my 'credit' balance?

  Do I need to click on the link now to claim the $10? If so, do I then need to use it immediately?

    Its automatically applied at checkout and also shows on product page of eligible items if your logged in.
