  • Is this you too OP?

    • Yes it is, thought to post it here too as the deal here has run dead

  • May be a stupid question but How would one avoid roaming charges ehen using this overseas ?

    • +1

When you add an eSIM it should show up as a second phone line. In your phone settings you want to disable your regular SIM card and then enable the eskimo eSIM for data. You will likely need to turn on Data Roaming for the eSIM for it to work, but you won't be charged anything because eskimo don't have any way to bill you.

  • Anyone know if there is extra fee for overseas?

  • Have activated on iPhone, looks good. Going travelling today thanks!
Defo only for new accounts 😎

    • Hi there,
Can you please feedback how thing's going with you actural experience with this data account?
Any issue till now after activated? Thanks

      • I used this in the USA for a week in Sep (from a previous cheapies deal) and it was perfect for basic web browsing, messaging, email etc. I didn't really care about speed (it's only 1GB total data free).

It took a while after I first turned on the phone until it established a usable data connection. Initially it connected to Sprint and no data would go through, but by the time I tried to figure what settings were required it had automatically connected to AT&T and was working.

  • Perfect timing! ANy other esim providers for America we can use with free data?!

  • Thanks OP. Does anyone know how to use the data transfer between different phones? The site says "you can split a single Eskimo data plan between the group instead of buying multiple plans or tourist SIM cards". However, as far as I know about e-sims, you can only install one e-sim on one device. After you did that you cannot use the same barcode to install it on your second device. So perhaps we need to buy a second e-sim to share the data but again there is no where on their site to buy an e-sim only without a second data plan!? If anyone has any experience with their data sharing function please let m know. Thanks

  • Perfect timing. just use it as a backup. Bought a SIM card at Woolworth for a few bucks (half price) for 10GB 7-day, plus free international calls when I was in Australia.

  • Just a heads up. I emails their support inbox ([email protected]) to ask a question and my email bounced back immediately with the following error message : "The response from the remote server was:550 5.4.1 Recipient address rejected: Access denied."
This might be nothing but could also be a red flag. Take caution before installing their app on your phone I suggest.

  • What's stopping us from using the roaming SIM here in NZ?

    • Nothing, I used it in NZ while I was over there around 2 months ago. Roamed on spark

  • I kept getting the message that esim is not ready. My phone definitely supports esim. Followed all of the steps, not sure what else to try.
