Just when we thought it wasn't worth having anymore and wasn't going to renew they do and do something like this… and totally redeem themselves.

    • hahaha totally agree!

    • hook, line and sinker

      • +1

Yeah and no, at $70 breaking even is much harder. At $35 though 4 coffees and a couple of meals and you've got a return on your investment. We like having it but struggle to justify $70 with how many places aren't listed in the book anymore.

    • +1

+1 for the Dumb & Dumber reference.

  • +2

This is a pretty good deal, though not as good as the $1 for 3 months deal they had going back in June but I don't thing that they actually meant for that deal to apply to their 3 month memberships at that time

    • I redeemed that deal, havent bought anything yet

      Have you?

      • +2

I’ve used it for a few restaurants.
It’s handy to get 25% off the total bill, which unlike First Table, also discounts any drinks purchased.
Just about to start my second 3 months membership for a $1 - was a great deal.

      • Coffees is where we mainly make our money back. There's a good selection of buy one get one free out there saving $5 every time we grab a coffee out. Sal's is also a good one if you have a few people round, again.

Also handy to know there's money off JB hi-fi vouchers if you plan to buy anything from there.

        • 1.25% credit card surcharge for jb hifi egift cards.

  • Bought few stuff.. covering fee easily.. bonus event cinema ticket cover half

  • It’s giving discount on the actual menu price in the resturent not like higher item prices in the other apps

  • How are the vouchers for the Gold Coast? Accomodation, theme parks, etc.

    • +1

You can view the vouchers in the app without having a membership

    • We used it at ripleys beleive it or not. But the voucher only does the individual attractions, it doesn't work on the combo.

  • I used to order the entertainment book every year. But, all the good local restaurants dropped support leaving only restaurants I wouldn't even visit for free. I guess the cinema voucher at least almost pays for the subscription. Even then, I'd still be $10 down. It's been a few years, I'll check if there is anything I might use now.

[edit] their website is not working too well — I filter 'Tauranga' and it shows me places in Hamilton… I filter out 'cafe', and it shows me cafe's.

Click 'more' down the bottom, and it shows me Sydney offers when I have clearly selected only Tauranga. I did see two offers I could take up though. Pleased to see Gengys has dropped out — we used the offer with them and it worked out almost the same price as without using the offer because of some weird rules they were applying to the offer. I don't think they were complying with the spirit of the offer.

  • Just a heads up - reciently on the Gold coast and not a single coupon I tried to use would work/be accepted.

"Online only" codes didn't work (which is most of the big attractions/deals). Staff at places didn't give a crap (and were actually pretty rude about it), and never had a response from Entertainment Guide.

You'd probably be fine with smaller places where you just show the activated code - but I got it for the bigger discounts.

And two of the places where codes didn't work/they refused to accept are two of the "deals" listed.

    • +1

Bummer. Even with the $1 promo, it can ruined things because you already planned to visit x or y business due to the coupons.

    • Wow are those places still listed on entertainment nz website?

    • We used the entertainment vouchers at Dreamworld and Aquaduck in the Gold Coast with no worries

  • Last time got good deal 25% off cheese cake plus $5 discount voucher for new account.
Krispy cream buy 12 and get 12 donuts free
Lots of school holiday deals to take kids around

  • Have reviewed the list of Auckland restaurants and I'm happy. Good quality food and drink for 25% off.

    • +1

Yep, just got $30 off my wife and I’s $119 meal in a nice Mt Eden Restaurant, making it $89. Already paid for half the 2yr membership :)

  • +1

I bought the $1 3 month deal, got some great value out of it. Best Deal was the half price WOF with AA - saved me $39!

  • with a 2 year membership do you get double the vouchers? or does it renew to another round of vouchers on the anniversary?

    • It says under the 2 year one that offers refresh annually. So guess 12 months in it just tops up another year for you.

  • +1

My 3 months subscription is expiring shortly. If I renew 12 months, will the deals that I've already redeemed be available again?

    • +1

pretty sure it become a full new sub when you activate so you get everything back. We've had it a few years and always had it reset to reuse the deals.

    • Yes. Can have multiple subs at one told

  • +1

How many phones do they allow to share one account these days?

    • +1

      Five devices

      • +2

Interesting, it constantly boots out one of us when the other signs in. It's a total pain that it won't let us keep both devices signed in.

        • +1

It’s always been that way unfortunately.
You can have five devices registered but only one ‘active’.

  • Is this only for existing members? Doesnt look like i can get the deal if im a new customer

    • +1

I signed up as new member. Never had it before so it's ok for newbies

  • I signed up for the 1 year deal but when I try and search for hotels with a date range its always blank?

Is it the same for everyone?

  • Has anyone got the Macpac gift card deal offer to work? Whenever I click on it nothing shows (no offer, redirection or anything. However, a record shows up that I have used the offer and added $10 to my "savings". So far I have clicked 10 times and it shows I have "saved" $100!! I bought the other 3m offer for $1 but am struggling to make back $1!! Even St Pierre's sushi now doesn't offer buy 1 get 1 free for sushi!

  • Are the 2 for 1 offers that are available allow for multiple use? Or can they only be used once?

    • Each offer can only be used once.

    • Single use unless the shop doesn't ask you to push redeem. Shops are much better at getting you to push it now but we used to have pretty much unlimited buy one get one free coffee when maccas was on there as they didn't once redeem the code.

    • Got lucky couple of times with dunkin offer as they didn't ask for redeem it.

  • Does anyone know how long it takes for the digital JB Hi-Fi gift cards to arrive after purchase? Is it really 2 business days like it says on the app?

  • This promotion was supposed to last till today right? Has it already ended? :( I missed it!

    • +1

It ended at 1.59am this morning.

  • Oh ok.. Thank you bigcheese.

  • From what I can see, the accommodation, travel cruise and GoCity vouchers are all useless in NZ?

    • And the movie ticket can’t be used in most of the South Island
