I own a couple of docks and port replicators and this brand is one of the better ones imo, much better than the HP or Lenovo docks that cost 2x or 3x the price. My port replicator powers everything (including 3 monitors) and I just need a single USB-C cable connected to my laptop, which provides PD as well.

I've tried the coupons here and only the code 960 works at checkout for me. Check the other codes available atm:

  • Has anyone here had similar positive experiences with Hagibis products? It looks like a very compelling product.

  • Looks good but not sure about the power out USB-C connector - seems you'd need 2 USB ports on your laptop to connect to this dock to get functions AND power?

    • The host port connects to the laptop.
I think that the PD 100w port next to host is for power in.
Ideally that should charge the laptop without any additional connection. Also, it says in the description that the power out would be 87W for safety.

      • +1

Correct. I have it already and I just need a single USB-C cable that does PD to my laptop.

    • You don't. I'm using it already and have been using products like these for a while (over 2 years now). Your laptop obviously needs to support PD via USB-C and you need to use a USB-C cable that also provides PD, which comes with the product anyway.

  • So how does this dock get power?

    • I believe you need a 100w usb-c power adapter to power the hub

    • The dock technically doesn't need power.

If I have a single 32' monitor connected to the dock, the dock can just act as a passthrough to carry that display connection to my laptop. I can also plug in a flashdrive to one of the USB-A ports and use it. However, this mode is quite limited. You can't use multiple displays if the dock isn't powered. And if the dock isn't powered, then your laptop is also not charged via PD.

You can of course plug 1x USB-C from the dock to the laptop and another 1x USB-C to the laptop to charge it. But that's kinda pointless.

      So my current setup is:

      • 3x monitors connected to dock
      • 100W USB-C connected to dock (to power it)
      • 100W USB-C from dock to my laptop, which provides PD to charge it, as well as provide all the connections (monitors, USB-A ports, etc)

Whenever I need to take my laptop to work, I just unplug one cable. Done.

I have another Hagibis dock that's of a different model to this one and that has the same behaviour.
