I bought the Lodge L9OG3 Cast Iron Round Griddle, Pre-Seasoned, 10.5 Inch (Pack of 1) when it was on special, cost me about ~$45 shipped from Amazon USA in 2020.
It's been perfect for making roti's or heating up frozen ones or naans, toasting burger buns for burgers etc on my induction. Even the good ole toasted sammich 👌

      Cleaning a cast iron skillet:

      • Rub the still-warm interior with paper towels
      • Scrub with nonabrasive scrub pad
      • Answer the skillet's riddles three
      • Heat over medium-low heat
      • Bathe skillet in the light of the blood moon and recite the Ancient Words

      Different use cases. A good quality multi ply stainless steel pan will get a far stronger sear because stainless steel transmits heat quickly, but it'll also be far more sticky. So a properly seasoned cast iron skillet give you a near-nonstick experience while still being able to be used at high temperatures that a regular nonstick pan absolutely should not be used.

      Some types of cooking require intense sustained heat, Cast Iron is a lot better for it.

      SS has different use case and a good one like all clad example are expensive, i use induction and cast iron you can cook most food it develops a natural non stick coating ,

      I will use ss for acidic stuff only

      I make kiwi breakfast on cast iron and i love it

      If you are anemic the pan leaches iron into the food doubling it in some cases, ideal for those low on iron.

    We will soon be able to identify Cheapies or Cheapies better halves by their oversized forearm muscles. And burn marks on the thumb and fingers where you grip the handles.
    Jokes apart, we been on Lodge CI cookwares for many years now and highly recommend it.
    But before you go ahead and buy make sure they are suitable for you.
    They are like pets, a bit high maintenance and needs more commitment from your side to keep them in tip top condition. Apart from the natural nonstick properties and heat retention capabilities, you can use the same cookware to sear the meat on hob and then move it to oven for slow cooking. These things can last a lifetime, unlike the use and throw non-stick versions.

        Very very very watered down version of soap is used only when very fatty residue is left on the cookware. There is a bamboo brush available on Amazon to help with cleaning. Like Plug mentioned below you can use the high heat to clean the CI cookware too.
        After washing we just dry it with cloth and then put it on high heat (you could use hob or oven) for drying and maintaining the seasoning. Wifey said the best seasoning oil is the Avocado cooking oil, not the extra virgin version. Refined oils got higher smoke point that the extra virgin versions.
        It is not advisable to store the cooked food, especially acidic ones on the CI cookware for longer.

      I have lodge at home but i went to a peter gordon cooking class at homeland the other day and they had ironclad for use. It felt a lot more premium so i got one from their website afterwards. You do need to season it yourself (although v easy to do).
