    Found a good deal on a hotel for our stay in Brisbane using this. I was pleasantly surprised that I could use my "Membership Reward Points" to bring the price down even further. Did not know about these reward points until now. Gotta say I'm loving the AMEX Airpoints Platinum and have got a lot out of it since joining last year.

      Any experience you are willing to share using that Card? I have 1 but with $190 annual fee, I don't think it can win other cards like TSB Platinum Mastercard ($90 fee with $1 per $70) and Dosh (0 fee with 1% return).

        I signed up when they were offering $500 Airpoints dollars so already that put me far ahead. I've taken advantage of numerous offers they've sent out which have saved me quite a bit of money. Plus I'm acruing quite a few Airpoints and Air NZ status points which will hopefully help me to maintain my tier status with Air NZ. I have a backup card cos it's not accepted everywhere but I find I can use it more often than not

        a big one is to max out the free supplementary cards (a situation that I understand not everyone can be in), which will exponentially scale every promo they run during throughout the year.

        For my Airpoints Platnium which is $195/year I have the 3 supplementary cards. This transforms some example promos as below..

        1. Shop small (10x $5 credit when spending $10 = $50 in credits) becomes 40x $5 credit when spending $10 = $200 in credits
        2. Grocery offer (2x $40 credit when spending $200 = $80 in credits) becomes 8x $40 credit when spending $200 = $320 in credits

        Just on the 2 promos above I've gotten $520 in value already.
