However, if you happen to be going instore anyway then no harm in trying.

  Yep. 9% is more than the typical margin on anything worth buying from NL over someone else. Don't expect phones or tvs to be cheap (er than elsewhere).

  $200 giftcard is mighty tempting

  Some things are heavily marked up, especially owned-brand like Endeavour, but the majority are near 0% margin. Don't turn up hoping for a discount on Apple or Dyson cause there won't be. Small appliances like kettles, toasters, hair dryers or air fryers could be worth it if you are open to any brand.

    Oh man, when I worked there they ran cost + 0% on iphones, excl. accessories and for a phone + screen protector + case it was more expensive than customer's normal farmlands or gold card pricing as a result.

    I don't really miss explaining that the $14 was all you'd get off a nearly $1500 phone.

    Fun fact too, dyson have a bit of margin but you're not 'supposed' to discount them, doesnt stop people who want to shove particular addons onto the sale from doing it.

    Might get a bit off of TVs or whiteware too, but it's not going to be cheaper than someone else.
