Click Frenzy: The Main Event 2022 General Discussion Thread

The Event is now finished!

Click Frenzy is back in New Zealand, and this time it's the Main Event that happens every November.

This time limited event runs for 53 hours and historically, has included partners from many big-name retailers and franchises.

Be sure signup to their website here to receive their newsletter and be in the running to win some of their 99% off deals. (You can always opt out after the event is over).

If you were a participant in last year's event, simply log back in again with the same username and password.

The event will be offering you a chance to score some 99% off deals: they've teased a Samsung Galaxy phone for $11 and 65 inch TV's for $18. To get these deals though, you'll need to be logged in and browsing the Click Frenzy website when a deal goes "live", and be prepared to respond to a pop-up notification that's asking you a certain question (30 minute time limit). Answers will be ranked by accuracy first and speed second, and winners will be contacted with a one-use discount code to buy their winning items with.

Visit their FAQ here to see an explanation

Remember: You will need a Click Frenzy account to access these 99% off deals when they go live, so be sure to create an account if you haven't already.

Tips: Be sure to also bookmark or follow their Instagram page as they sometimes use this to livestream events (which you need to watch to answer quizzes that unlock the 99% off deals).

Confirmed 99% off Deals:

We also had quite a few winners from our forum members during the CF Mayhem event: iPhone 13 , Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, Apple Airpods, Smeg Toaster, Air Fryer and Xbox Series S.

  • damn ill be at work :(

  • +1

Under Armour up to 60% off
adidas extra 40% off Outlet (code)
    New Balance 30% off (code)

Just some of the deals I've come across.

    • Please if you could create a thread or explain how you got the bigger deals last time, so we can learn some tricks as well? :D

      • +2

Can you explain what you mean a bit more. Big deals last time for example, what do you mean there?

I got a somewhat similar request a few years back which resulted in the following thread:
        https://www.cheapies.nz/node/24307

My style has changed a bit since then. I was a prolific deal poster at the time, whereas now I focus on competitions and deals that stand out. Though I still post other deals, whether it be a freebie or a decent discount code.

Of those sites I linked to in that thread, I use 9 of them still. The HNZ code is still going strong too.

        • Wow that was a thread that kept on multiplying, Wakrak! You certainly put a lot of energy into sharing! And I hope all that karma comes back at you because you deserve it! โ˜บ๏ธ๐ŸŒบ

          • +3

@Cashmere: Cheers. A lot of it comes down to this community. Didn't know much when I first started. Then I started learning from other cheapos about what's a good deal and what is not, where to look, what to type, and so on. Hopefully I've helped others get better along the way.

        • No, not a problem. I was basically asking how the heck you got an iPhone when I basically camped in front of my PC and got nothing. It looks like I missed out this year since the bigger deals happened yesterday between 11-12pm.

I was kindly having you on, sorry if I sounded annoying!

          • @toomanywises: Ahh I get you now. Nah you're all good, was just a bit confused.

I was lucky last year. Usually the pop-up appears on its own, but CF decided to do some tinkering back in May, and so unbeknownst to us at the time, you had to reload the page to get the pop-up.

It was the very first comp.

            • @Wakrak: That makes sense. Thank you :)

Time to dust off Microsoft Edge since I can't be bothered disabling stuff! The last time I refreshed the page so many times, I think my device thought I was having a fit.

Some good (very good) wins there team. Nice work.

Extra 20% off clearance at Macpac

  • +3

@scrimshaw email just came in now

$12 KitchenAid Stand Mixer, $4 Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, $16 Apple iPhone 14 (128GB, Midnight)

    • Thanks, for whatever reason I'm not getting any emails.

      • I only got it on the account I created yesterday. Same thing happened to me last year.

        • Do you create a new account for each event, or use multiple per event?

          • @timmywinny: Only for the emails. I use the same account for entering.

  • Wait so how do we know if we can get the 99% off deals?

  • Also when does the popup show? xD

  • Can I do this 99% thing on my phone? I've got the page open on another tab

    • +1

I would also like to know the answer to this. Also do we need to keep refreshing the page?

      • Some others were saying they didn't have to refresh the page but I always found I had to keep refreshing

        • It is definitely receivable without refreshing, that is an end user problem

    • +1

I done it on my phone last time. Definitely easier on a laptop/chromebook in my opinion though

    • Phone would be fine, got to refresh

    • Works on mobile but the most important thing is the tab is active.

As tabs use up resources, a browser will hibernate it so it isn't using up CPU resources. If this happens, updates will not appear.

  • I did not see any good deal in nz website i have checked them all after login as member. 99% off deals are available in Australia only. Correct me if wrong.

  • +1

On the last Click Frenzy in May, the 99% deals didn't start until 8PM

    https://www.cheapies.nz/comment/127682/redir

According to their email, there will be 99% deals between
    8-9pm for a IPhone 13
9-10pm for a Nars Bijoux Eyeshadow palette

  • +1

Remember to check that you're logged in as well. Sometimes it logs you out.

  • +2

Got an email and it said the iPhone 14 99% off deal should go live between 7-8 pm today.

    • +1

Strangely enough it was sent at 7:27pm. They must have forgot about it or something.

      • +1

Yeah, it is surprisingly quite late.

        • +1

I wonder if they did it on purpose or not.

Also, maybe there is an alternative communication somewhere else but would be crazy to think they release the popup before they send it out to the majority.

      • +1

This also happened last time, very weird timings of things

    • +1

usually, the more expensive / desirable items show up closer to midnight. It's weird that the iPhone is the first item this time around.

  • what kind of question do they ask?

    • Click Frenzy / brand / sale related

      • okies thanks.

  • It's up

    • Think you might have beat me to this one haha

      • +1

I had the iPhone in the palm of my hands, but I think I answered wrong.

        • same as me, literally answered within like 1-2 secs but i answered 3 instead….

          • @dealhunters: Ah well. The mrs wants the stand mixer anyway lol. She has the iPhone from last year.

        • Based on answers here I think I got it wrong too haha, I thought it was only one year. OOPS

  • Apple iphone 14 128GB Midnight
    $16

    QUESTION:
How many years has Click Frenzy been running in New Zealand?

    HINT:

The First click frenzy event in NZ was in 2021. https://www.cheapies.nz/node/30411

  • is it 2021?

    • Bill bud, you've slacked off, leave it to the pros

      • +1

        I'm washed now

        • all that gaming on the xbox you won last year gots your brain cooked

  • 2 years, right?

    • I hope so.

    • shit. Thought it was three. Misread

      • I guessed 4 lol, didn't think to check. def wrong here either way

      • +1

        I put three too. Bugger.
You got a phone last year anyway!

        • I was panicking and then saw three written in the description of this post ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

    • I think this is the correct answer. If it started last year, and this is the anniversary, they would be on their second year currently, but not finished it. In reality, this is another one of their ambiguous questions, as through the context of the question it could be either 1 or 2. Guess is two as they would pick the longer of the two.

  • I tried searching it up but couldn't find it

    • I checked the Instagram page and found the earliest post was 52 weeks ago lol

      • Yeah first Facebook post was October 2021

  • so 3 years right?

    • That's what I was thinking! Last year was the first!

  • Note: I reloaded the page on an incognito tab and the pop-up appeared again without me being signed in. Not sure if this is intended.

  • Oh, by the way, you don't need to be logged in.

The way the website works is the popup brings a cookie. Once I've answered once, I clear the cookies (don't need to sign in again) and reanswer.

  • +8

At least they're not using SurveyMonkey this time.

  • So what number have we decided I went 3 also

    • I went with 1 year, found this

"Click Frenzy is launching in New Zealand for the first time, Tuesday 9 November 2021"

So my thinking is technically one full year, but not sure now with all the other answers

  • Stupid question, i am on my phone and laptop, came up on each the pop up. answered twice. Which one does it consider or is it void

  • How do I get the pop up?..

    • +2
      • Make sure you're logged in your account and you're not using some kind of content blocker like NoScript or Adblock.
      • You only have 30 minutes per question, if you missed this 30min window the popup is gone.
      • Also, tab has to be active, which is why some people don't get it until they refresh.

  • I'm thinking its been 1 year also

    • -1

      you just went 3 spud

      • +1

Yer I know I got it wrong cause I rushed also๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚

    • Could be either 1 or 2 but I think they will mark two as the correct answer.

      • Agree, although if they determine the answer to be 1 then I would say KJKNZ has got the iPhone.

        • Definitely think prizes are won by people here. The 10 minute notice for the time slot means a lot of people wouldn't have seen it in time from their email.

  • Must be one prize a night. See you all tomorrow.

  • +1

I still haven't gotten the pop up yet. What am I doing wrong?

      • Sorry, I didn't know that.

      • +7

        This site is about sharing.
        Pull your head in.

        • bigcheese, thatโ€™s why I like you mate, sharing is caring! ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ’

    • Too late.
      Itโ€™s after 30 minutes

      • +1

Thank you for letting me know!

Poor Sandy and Karl have been permanently banned. Think they caught the wrong person. How in the world Timmy didn't even get a spanking yet those two have been cast into the eternal depths of hell is a mystery even god himself can't solve. Karl didn't even do anything wrong, he just likes Being Determined, Smart, and Mindful.

  • +1

I like how in the email they sent out yesterday, they show some of the participating brands and then state that there are quite a few others. There are only two stores missing from that image.

    • From the FAQ about NZ 99% deals: Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, weโ€™ll also be dropping hints throughout the event on when you can expect a pop-up to go live!

No Instagram posts since 16th June, no Instagram stories
No Facebook stories, last post 14 hours ago saying the event is starting

Seems like the Aus account is more active

    • The Addias discount also displays as a "11.11 Singles Day" discount in the cart, so was likely happening anyway.

      • Same with ShaverShop, New Balance and others. When do they not have a sale / deals were available a few days prior to Click Frenzy.
