Not sure about this company, haven't had a great experience with my purchase from the 2 for 1 deal which arrived with a different prescription to the one saved on my account. They tried charging me extra to return them and get them replaced with the correct prescription (they said the designer frames I'd purchased had increased in price since I bought them and I'd have to pay the $60 difference to get them replaced), then they tried sneaking in lenses upgrades I didn't ask for. Finally got them to agree to replace what I paid for what without me having to pay anything extra. Then they sent me a non tracked label for the return, which I sent back that same day, then they phoned me a week later accusing me of not returning the frames and claiming that they'd talked with NZ Post who had no record of me sending the parcel and they're not going to replace them unless I return them. I explained to them that the label they sent me had no tracking number on it so NZ Post would have no idea if I had sent it or not, to which they said that NZ Post can track Clearly parcels using the senders name and Clearly order number, which I knew was complete bollocks but I called NZ Post anyway and surprise surprise I was told they can't track a parcel if it doesn't have a tracking number and barcode.

Very dodgy experience from a company with such overwhelmingly positive reviews.

    • Just had my replacement glasses delivered today. No extra cost to me apart from about a couple of hours of back and forth on the phone with them insisting the parcel I sent back should be trackable and me trying to explain to half a dozen different staff why it wasn't.

Apart from that the glasses are great, gonna wear them today when I go in to renew my drivers license.

I'd probably use this company again.

Even with the free frames, buying glasses from zenni is cheaper for me at least.

  • minimum $17 for clear prescription lens?

I get my prescription glasses from smartbuyglasses.com

$115 and the lens comes with all the extras

Shipped within a week and I even received a spare set a lens for free

  • Does anyone know if any of these online glasses companies cater for really high prescriptions? My CYL is -6.50. Most of the ones I’ve looked at only go to -6.00

    • Yes, but it's certainly a lot more challenging to find a pair which will work.

Mine are +8.50 and +7.00 a d I've found a pair which have come out all right. Very limited selection of frames, though.

You also have to be very conscious of the size of the glasses. In an optometrist, they'll guide you to the right frames for your prescription, but online it's all up to you and the guides on each frame (which I don't trust 100%).
So I try to find frames of similar/smaller sizes to previous pairs I've had at optoms.

Zenni does, even much higher than that. I'm at -8.50 and -9.50 and while some frames are unsuitable I don't have any problem ordering from them. Check out my previous comments:

      • I got ordered from zenny for like -11.0. there was some extra and the frame needs to be for thick lenses but doable

  • Never had any issues with clearly, have got 3 pairs all perfect. Got prescription checked at OPSM and they were all spot on. Highly recommend.
