Click Frenzy: Mayhem 2022 General Discussion Thread

The Second NZ Click Frenzy Event has begun

Click Frenzy is one of the biggest shopping events in Australia, and last year in 2021 Kiwis finally got to join in the shopping event. This time limited event runs for 53 hours and historically, has included partners from many big-name retailers and franchises.

Be sure signup to their website here to receive their newsletter and be in the running to win some of their 99% off deals. (You can always opt out after the event is over).

If you were a participant in last year's event, simply log back in again with the same username and password.

The event will be offering you a chance to buy some high-demand items (they've teased an iPhone 13), at a very steep discount (99% off). These items randomly appear at certain times of the day (or night) during the 53-hour period, and stock is extremely limited so you'll need to keep your eyes peeled and your fingers ready to snap up these bargains.

Remember: You will need a Click Frenzy account to access these 99% off deals when they go live, so be sure to sign up for free beforehand so you don’t miss out.

Be sure to also bookmark their Instagram page as they sometimes use this to livestream events (which you need to watch to answer quizzes that unlock the 99% off deals)

And here I thought today's question would be "How many times has the average Cheapie pressed F5 today?'

  • iirc they have not published the prizepool this year which is odd, usually they say 5x iPhone etc. Wonder how many/few of each prize

    • +1

Don't believe they published that last year. Maybe only for Aussie

  • They really like to leave the popups to the last minutes don't they?

  • What fashion category?

  • The survey monkey link is broken

    • Massive Fail on this one haha

    • So is their category system as far as I can tell, so there's no answer unless it's zero

    • This one didn't even pop for me :(

  • Survey link is broken and category dropdown is broken very funny

    • That’s what happens in a click frenzy!

  • +1

For those confused, the link is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KZ8NDPK and the question is:

    GO NUTS DEAL ALERT*

    Apple Airpods $2

    [RRP: $239]

    QUESTION:
How many brands are featured in the fashion category on Click Frenzy NZ? OR enter secret ZM radio code.

See here for all the Terms and Conditions

    • This link is broken for everyone, right?

      • +1

Now it says it's closed, classic

      • Looks like it, and so is the category system

        • Category has not worked the entire time - completely no results
Works on the Oz site just not NZ.
          Can't have been tested.

          • @bigcheese: Was thinking that, previous times I went to the brand pages after the question, this time I opened the brands page and noticed the category system was broken and was thinking that's weird but oh well I guess they won't use it. Then the question is about categories :P

    • anyone have the answer?

      • +1

        pretty sure it's 12

  • Absolutely fuming lads - Have been preparing the entire day for this and an absolute shitshow

  • +3

Guess the I.T person wanted the headphones for themselves

  • -2

should prob just remove this, the degree of incompetence borders on scam material lol

  • +1

It must be my fault because this is the first one I've ever tried to enter, think I jinxed it.

Waited all day for it too.

  • It's working now

    • How?

    • has said not found or survey closed the whole time for me

      • use incognito.
        worked for me

        • this worked, thanks

  • So is that it then for go wild deals? Bit of a let down.

    • The Go Nuts / Go Wild deals usually run until the very last hours of CF event. (There's 7 hours left in the event)

There will probably be some tonight.

    • my prediction is here

Only a matter of hours until we find out

  • The link still work now?!

How many brands are featured in the fashion category on Click Frenzy NZ?

    18?

    • Yeah, they screwed up with survey monkey so someone busted their balls and made a new survey on one of survey monkeys' other sites which hasn't been closed yet.

I think it's either 11 or 12 since from a holistic view the only sensible option of what category they are referring to is the linked product pages on the main page. There are 12 but grabone has 2 although they are for different sellers. Most accurate answer would be 11 but it's not crazy to assume the staff will just count the number of product pages.

    • I can't figure out their silly website, is it 4?

      • 24?

        • thats what i got

        • would be absolutely bonkers if it wasn't

          • @Bill: True. unless there is something else which we don't see

        • How'd you get that? I can't see categories doesn't load for me when i search in the search bar 5 come up.

  • GO NUTS DEAL ALERT*

    Xbox Series S 512GB Console $5

    [RRP: $499]

    QUESTION:
How many featured Travel & Experiences offers are in Click Frenzy Mayhem NZ? OR enter secret ZM radio code.

  • I got this deal pretty early I hope, I don't think they sent out a notification

    • fingers crossed we get it

      • Honestly, because of this, I think we have a very good chance of winning this

      • I doubt they are giving away many of these, probably just one to giveaway?

        • No, I would say way more than you would expect, they have alot of money to blow

          • @Bill: Oh really, i can't imagine many people even buying into the sale, it's not even that great for anything else sadly.

            • @nilllskill: Yeah, I think they're getting massively propped up by oz hq

  • +1

Wtf someone messed up, I only just got the email for the xbox

    • +1

Haha yep, between 6-7pm. I got in super early but i put the wrong answer haha good luck man.

      • Damm tough luck

    • +2

What are these cats up to eh. Got email at 658. Competition goes from 6-7 lol.

      • that's what i was thinking. what timezone they are in

        • How did you come across it?

          • @Wakrak: Luck. Just refreshed site in private browser

          • @Wakrak: Were there any other ones coming up other than the Xbox? I still haven't received the email.

            • +1

              @KJKNZ: That's it I think.

              • @Wakrak: there is more

                • @Bill: oooooooo. Just read the rest of the email. You're right. Guess I better boil the jug and get me milo ready.

                  • +1

@Wakrak: 99% off "Go Nuts" deals are here! The above deal is going live soon!

Make sure you have read up on our FAQs, and get clicking between 8-9PM and 9-10PM tonight.

                    • @ace310: I don't actually think that is intentional

You may think that makes sense but I believe they just forgot to change that from the previous email for the first day

The event ends at 12pm and I predict there is still a s22 and a 65" tv

my xbox prediction has already been proven right

My prediction is the 2 remaining items will go live between 10-12

                      • @Bill: What makes you guess a tv and s22. Was it teased or in an email?

                        • +3

@xxLegendPlayzzxx: on the sign up page

                          • @Bill: Ah okay I thought that was just an example.

                          • @Bill: That's copied from Aussie's website.

Also, the NZ site has this right above that:
Check out all the Click Frenzy deals 30 minutes before the rest of Australia!

                            • @Timonthynz: Could be different prizes, but still think at least one prize will be between 11 to 12.

                              • @Bill: The ‘prize’ is a job in their IT department to fix up this mess so it doesn’t happen next time.

As someone who was doing this for the first time it’s been a pretty underwhelming experience.

                                • @bigcheese: I don't know about that, you would think they would have learnt from last time. Seems like we're beating a dead horse

                                  • @Bill: I was on Cheapies last time when it came out in November but never bothered back then.
It's a shame because it actually seems like a good concept, just poorly executed.

                                    • @bigcheese: I honestly think it's a terrible concept, making people wait for an hour of their life when they won't actually click on any of the deals since they're afraid they will miss the pop up. Hard to believe anyone actually visits in a frenzy to get the sale, rather than just camp for the equivalent of a giveaway. Things may be different in oz with more competitive sales.

                                      • +1

@Bill: I think the idea of having a one hour window with some amazing deals is fine and it could be a great way to engage people if it was done right.
However you're right - it has been terrible because of the multitude of failures.
There is no incentive to visit any of the retailers - you can literally just sit on the homepage.

I don't think I could be bothered doing this again (unless I win something. Then I might change my mind).

                                        • @bigcheese: All the entries I did I had to refresh the page. If the pop up actually worked I would be fine with doing this, the above comments are right. The website is not very well made and I think if the website was interactive with possible flash deals or something click frenzy would work way better.

Think the conversation went something like this:

Staff 1: Ay I just sent out the Xbox notification
Staff 2: ok, I'm looking at responses now

        1 minute later….

Staff 2: ay I'm not getting any responses, something's wrong
Staff 3 walks in: oh shit, I forgot to send out the email

        • i have no words

  • +1

Maybe there really will be a suprise annouce giveaway at 11.59pm tonight lmao.

    • No, there won't be any after the end time

    • Correction: the event ends at 12 pm so it is possible

    • The xbox email did say "and get clicking between 8-9PM and 9-10PM tonight."

      • I don't think it is accurate, but take my predictions with a grain of salt

  • did the xbox link go live, or was it bungled like the rest of the event?

    • yeah, it did, just before 7

      • ok, was awkward timing, was sorting kids in bed

    • It was live.

  • 8-9pm nothing happened?

    • Frustrating! It stated in email between 8 and 9pm.

      • Ad astra per aspera friend

  • Was nothing between 8 and 9pm.

  • -2

Yea guys, I told you (I feel like I deserve to say this)

    • 99% off "Go Nuts" deals are here! The above deal is going live soon!

Make sure you have read up on our FAQs, and get clicking between 8-9PM

    • -1

Wow, you guys are really pissed off. Just having a laugh.

By the way, evidence is here and here

      • Based on your guesses? Ok mr know it all.

        • I mean, does that take away from the fact that I told you so?

          • +3

@Bill: Couldn't care less, annoying the info they provided was incorrect.

            • @nilllskill: Dang, why you leaving yourself wide open to sucker punch "I told you so"'s

            • +1

@nilllskill: Annoying yeah but I agree with Bill that under the conditions especially the Click Frenzy history and the lack of any info on the deals seems most likely they just screwed up as they have several times now
