  I would get Chromecast with Google TV instead. Then you are not tethered to your phone/tablet and get a nice remote to control stuff directly.

    This is absolutely the best advise. Google tv or xiaomi MI Box S.No point getting a solo chromecast anymore

        Chromecast with Google TV is like having an android tv, except its on your hdmi port instead of built in. It has its own remote, you never need your phone to be able to use it.

        I have one, but it's not powerful enough to run large 4k movies on plex so I got a nvidia shield tv pro instead, and honestly that was a much better investment.

  Google TV with the remote is next best thing since sliced bread :D

  That tiny little remote is all you need to turn on your TV- Home theatre receiver -> set correct inputs-> control the apps in google TV -> control volume -> send voice messages. In short it is awesome! Mind you I had a FHD chromecast and was looking for the UHD chromecast while I came across the Google TV.

    Ahh ok. I'm using this on a monitor so wouldnt matter as much.

  I see many enthusiasts here. Most new TV already does netflix and youtube. So what does this do again?

  Stream from your phone? Same like the old chromecast?

        I use mine to watch Disney, Netflix, international TV via vpn and stream from my phone.. You can add plex and things too so depends on what you want to do
