Get $20 off 1st Uber Ride OR 2 Tubs of Giapo Hokey Pokey Ice Cream Delivered (New Users)

ICECREAMNZ

Global ride sharing service Uber will once again expand their role to ice cream delivery man. Following suit to an initiative the company ran last year, the transportation king pins will personally deliver tubs of Giapo Hokey Pokey Ice Cream to users throughout five cities across the country.

New users of the app will benefit the most from the promotion, receiving not only $20 off their first ride, but also two complimentary tubs of creamy delight upon signing up with the code “ICECREAMNZ”. Existing Uber users will have to pay $20 for the service when selecting the ice cream option in the ‘Promotions’ section on the app.

Uber reports they have five times more ice cream up for grabs than last year. The service will be available this Friday 24 July between 11am – 5pm through Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown while stocks last.

So it's a good deal for new users who like ice cream and want a free ride. However for those who don't need the ice cream and are in Auckland, this deal offers $20 off 2 Rides Each. Alternatively, you can sign up via the Uber Referral Wiki to get $25 credit. So it all depends on your situation.

  • Do you guys know whether uber picks people up from the airport by the pickup/drop off stands?

    • If you to Uber Wellington, you can enter your pickup and destination, and it will show UberX. If you try Uber Melbourne, it will say unavailable for UberX due to Uber blocking UberX from the airport. I think you should be alright. In any case, if there is an issue the driver will contact you.

    • Yes. In wellington they like to pick you up on ground floor near the taxis but in the public pick up area. It's best to text the driver exactly where you are to avoid confusion. They never pick you up in the taxi only part bc then you have to pay the pickup surcharge. At least in wellington that is. ..

  • Looks like $20 off first ride or ice cream, not both.

I signed up using the code and it shows,
Free first ride, or ice cream (24 Jul), up to $20!

    • Ah well spotted, have fixed deal. Unless you really want free ice cream delivered, you are better off using the other methods.

  • signed my sister up, had a tub each (and a hat) really nice icecream
