  • How do I find my invite code to give to someone?

    • I got mine by email. I can't seem to find it in the app…

  • It states

"As a new customer, you’ll pocket a handy $20 account credit when you open an account with us. Just use the promo code JOINUS20 when joining via our app or in branch. Ts & Cs apply."

Be sure to check the fees page too.

Thanks.. some of their fees are a bit much for my liking..

      • The fees look pretty normal to me.
Not very impressed with $20 for signing up though, it's hardly worth bothering.
Co-Op Bank in the UK gave me $300 to join.

  • Does they still charge you monthly fee?

    • Looks like you need to retain at least $4000 in the account, which is quite a bit where it won't be earning much interest on it. I also found it a lot of work, as they the need to phone you and go through all sorts of things, and in the end I never got my account setup with them.

      • It’s pretty good for students as they have no fees and received 3% interest on savings

        • Do they get 3%? That is better than term deposits in a bank. Almost pays to be a student if you can get that sort of interest rate!

Edit: It is 3% up to 4k, and then only 0.75% for amounts above that. But yes it is a good deal for students, as they don't have to pay fees.

    this deal is a joke

    • Chill, m8. The bank has some accounts with a $0 monthly fee, so this is effectively a free $20. I reckon that's a pretty good deal.

      • $0 only for students?

A "current account" doesn't carry a monthly fee, but does carry a per-transaction fee.

So if you're wanting to pocket the $20 and be done with it, sign up for a current account - and then withdraw your cash from the branch and close your account. You'll pay a $0.50 fee to withdraw, so the net profit is $19.50.

I suspect if you're closing your account, they might not even pip you the fee…

But yes, I agree the bank's products are sucky in comparison to those offered by other banks - if you planned to use them for your actual banking, and not to just pocket the $20.
