To celebrate Uber Ice Cream day globally, Uber has teamed up with Lewis Road Creamery and Eat My Lunch to deliver tubs of Lewis Road Creamery ice cream to users in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch CBD’s and inner suburbs.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  • If you haven’t used Uber before, download the Uber app and create an account. New users can enter the promo code ‘ICECREAMNZ‘ when signing up in the PROMOTIONS section of the app to get a tub of ice cream FREE.
  • Open the Uber app on Friday, July 15, between 11am – 5pm and slide over the ICECREAM option.
  • Set your location and hit request! Watch your tubs of delicious Lewis Road ice cream come to you on the map.
  • Meet your driver on the street and enjoy!

It doesn't say anything about existing accounts so we'll have to wait and see what pops up on the app. Existing users will be charged $20 for 2 tubs so best to open a new account. From Uber NZ:

$20 for 2 tubs. However find someone who hasn't used Uber before and get them for free! One each to share

Last years deal provided free ice cream for new users plus account credit for new users but charged $20 for existing customers.

      Should be available to all users (a new button will appear). Just not sure if they will be charging existing users or not. I'll send them a message to see.

    I hope Uber drivers are getting paid fully by Uber for delivering them. I would feel bad signing up, they deliver, and the drivers are doing it at some cheap promo rate.

      last year it wasnt the normal drivers, it was a few flash suv's with uber branding all over and people driving had uber tshirts, the tubs were teeny tho, like mandarin size. got a free hat tho
