    • Thanks. Added to post

    • Have had one for a couple of months.

      Fit for purpose.

Needs constant emptying and battery charging.

Anyone know where to get a B&D adaptor as I am in that ecosystem already for 18v batteries?

      • I just got a DeWalt adapter from Ali Express for the V7 Advanced. Goes good. They likely have Black and Decker too

      • We bought one a few weeks ago. It is a million times better than the expensive Electrolux we had previously.

I don't actually mind emptying it - gives me satisfaction that it actually works and the confirming that the old vacuum sucked.

We just leave it on charge when we don't use it. Hasn't been a problem for us yet.

        • Few things:

          1) that's the design you can empty without having to unplug the attachments right? That's really handy.

          2) Keep your receipt details and contact Dyson if any issues with batteries, as they replaced a few of these that failed before the end of the warranty period.

          3) clean/replace those filters every so often because if blocked up it can appear like it's a battery issue when it's really a low airflow problem.

          • @Jaxson: Good shout on cleaning and replacing the filters.

My fingers might be too dumb but I have to remove the battery to get the dust container open before I can tip it out. 10 seconds of work so doesn't bother me too much. I don't have to unplug the vacuum stick, if that's what you mean.

      • i got one new for around 380 ish with extended warranty fro HN and i liked it very much so got a old in good condition with dead battery from fb marketplace for that one i put dewalt adapter as i got the deal from dewalt of get power tool and get free battery . . the point is it works very well with power tool batteries , i got the adapter from aliexpress it was like 10 is nzd some thing i think they make adapter for many power tools

        • Are dewalt and B&D compatible since since owner?

          • @L3tstaxth1s: when i was researching i found the adapter were only available from china for major brands like makita dewalt so on i am not sure if they are similar i just ai them and it says the design for holding the adapter is different , its not a bad idea to get a major know brand power tool battery and or tool on a deal as many times you can score a good tool 2nd hand on market place aswell . is it worth it buying a tool with battery i got my dewalt battery + tool for 110 some thing its worth it, i have used to tool many times its nice and powerful and have used to battery a lot it runs lot longer then stock dyson battery ,
i really like dyson as all the parts is easy to get fro mchina or locally especially v8 as its older model

Might be worth a bit more to get the car kit, if you need it

  • Sorry sodastream gas bottles only 30% off. Syrups are 50%

    • Did you go in store to check? As sometimes it's 30% online but 50% in store.

      • Thanks, I will check!

        • Confirming 50% off in store for a new cylinder, bringing the price down to $23. Replacement cylinder's are $13.50.

          • @runningman69: For new cylinders you might be able to price match in Mitre10 since the electronic pricing displays means they do have have the price. So just take a photo with the price and stock visible.

Doubt you can with refills considering only way to show price is a receipt and that's a little weird plus as I mentioned before a exchange could be taken as a service which is excluded.

Of course if you happen to have a birthday around now that's even better if you spend around $50

            • @Nil Einne: I wonder if they've changed how many Sodastream gas cylinders they stock. In Henderson they used to have a box at the checkouts. I've never had problems before getting refills of non quick connect cylinders even fairly late in the sale. Although to be fair, I didn't go late on the first 50% after a long time e.g. 2025 July IIRC.

They've changed the store and the checkouts have less space behind the counter, and on Friday they asked me to get them from the ordinary displays even for exchanges. There were quite a few so it wasn't a problem. Today I went to Westgate and they to only had what was on the displays. And were down too to the last 2.

It was late so there's a chance they had some in the store room. In retrospect I didn't make clear I was after 3 but the guy did say they put them all out and I was lucky. (Was planning to get 2x refills and 1x new total $50, ended up getting 2 new and a syrup instead since decided I could use more.)

They did have quite a few quick connect ones.

      • Yes $13.50 in store

        • Yes because of excluding online only items for 50% (well 30% for them) and the new cylinders being marked as online only you can never rely on the price online.

    • As happened last year, regular Pepsi Max out of stock online now unfortunately

  • $10 off $100 spend for new accounts too. I could stack with the free delivery because the codes get entered on different pages

  • can you get price beat of online only item with briscoes?

    • Are you price-beating with Briscoes or price-beating a Briscoes item elsewhere?

If the latter, guess it depends on what the policy of the price-beating store says

    • No, the Briscoes price guarantee doesnt apply to their online only items.

Edit. Actually maybe I'm wrong. They used to have in their proce guarantee page that it didnt apply to online only items but I cant see it there anymore so maybe they chnaged their policy.

  • is the website even working properly? all categories and search show no results

    • It's working fine for me on both computer and mobile.

      • One of my browsers Firefox mobile seems to be broken some how login screen stopped loading. Works fine with Chrome on same device. Probably clearing cookies will help but meh

        • oh maybe that’s it then i was using firefox

  • Was expecting this. Having one in mid July seems very common, and this weekend seemed most likely since it's getting a little late next weekend and seemed unlikely they'd overlap with Matariki. (IIRC they did during Auckland Anniversary Weekend once but generally their 50% off sales are outside of long weekends.)

Based on previous expect there to be another sometime soon maybe September and then unless we get lucky might have to wait until July 2027.

  • If the free shipping code doesn't work for you remember if you are in store you can use their kiosk or in store WiFi then use the in store free shipping codes. These work with most other vouchers AFAIK e.g. birthday ones.

  • Is this good? Shark Carpet Expert Stain Remover EX200ANZ
Looks to be the lowest price for this model.

  • Best opportunity to get some De-Solv-it. Can get M10 or Bunnings to price beat

  • Can I use ABA-BRNUJ26AGB more than 1 time with the same account?

    • No. It’s one use per account.
Either create a new account or use this code which I haven’t updated on my free shipping post yet 😊
      ABA-BRLUJ26ALP

      • Legend, cheers for that!

  • Going by Mitre10 and Bunnings and the limited recent previous deals I found, the smoke alarms also seem a decent price. https://www.briscoes.co.nz/cleaning-laundry/general-refuse/f…

Unfortunately there's only one interconnected so if you need to comply with the 2024 building code fire safety regulations or live in a big home maybe not so good. Especially since I'm not sure how good this GoldAir is https://www.briscoes.co.nz/product/1124998/goldair-wireless-…

It's long life but only has a 2 year warranty. You can probably complain under the CGA but when Orca (and Cavius and I'm sure others although not sure AA Home) simply warrant theirs for 10 years including the battery and it's advertised as having a 10 year life span, it shows how silly things can still be with some companies.

I only looked recently but did look in store and don't think there's much out of stock. Only thing which might be is https://www.briscoes.co.nz/product/1111107/aa-home-10-year-m… (it's out of stock but not sure if it's due to the sale or permanent).

If you don't have a recent birthday, can probably price beat most in Mitre10 if you rush.
