Decent price. It was $420 prior, but they only sold one unit in a month.

    • Price matters. Now it is only 6 available comparing to 36 prior to that…

Safer than the facebook marketplace wildwest

  • ex Armageddon?

    • Been up on the website since the 7th of April.

    That's pretty good

The only thing I don't like is that you're locked out of used games

Wonder how games like GTA are gonna run on these. But even if you have a ps4 or Xbox one they're a very fast upgrade

    • +1

That's the sad state about the next GTA it's stunted by old console hardware. The graphics progression since these consoles released is a lot.

      • +1

Nah theyll be planning to release slightly better version over the next few gens like gta v.

      • All the best games I have played don't necessarily have the best graphics fidelity, I'd have to have them side by side with my PC and PS5 and be looking for the difference to care when sitting on my couch and playing games

        • +1

Tbh the frame rate and frame pacing are more important to me than fidelity.

Bloodborne is one of my favourite games but it's really not very good to actually play through it

          • @Frisky Grandma: red dead redemption 2 on the PlayStation was locked to 30FPS and it came out on the ps4 but the frame timing was amazing and it was amazing to play. One of my favourite games of all time, so I'm excited for what GTA 6 is going to be like.

            • @jrunv: The fps really makes a difference in games, the newer systems can handle rdr 2 at 60fps, rockstar should hurry up and let people play it like that, theyd probably charge tho , they didnt for 60fps on gta4 but did for rdr1 (but 4k upgrade was free for that)

              • @quote: idk, tbh it felt great to play, didn't feel like I was missing the frame rate at all. Just an example of how rockstar can make a great game without the best hardware, so im very excited for gta 6

                • +1

@jrunv: I used to think the same with gtav at 30fps, but after playing at 60 its kinda unplayable going back. When rdr2 comes out at 60fps 30 will seem bad

      • If the leak data is correct, pc bring the least returns for rockstar hence why it always comes to consoles then PC, so they can sell the game twice.

But not everyone wants or needs photo realism in their games. I got a series s early on and honestly it's perfectly good enough for my wants and needs. Games look good enough and as much as I know full well they could look.l better, doubling what I paid to get extra pixels and nicer textures just wasn't worth the outlay.

When you see steam hardware surveys something like gta6 will be targeting the masses as they want a player base to get a return in their sizeable investment, if theye wanted pretty they could say screw you and make a game only playable on an rtx5090. But it will almost definitely run on a 4060 and probably less than that so that they can make their money.

Considering a digital only PS5 is now $1100 and a suspected Xbox Series consoles price increase coming soon too, it’s a great time to buy.
Also, the recent Game Pass subscription price drop is a welcome change.

    • Buying games on sale on either Steam or key sites is still way cheaper and I can play for years after buying. I'll never go back to game pass, even with the decrease it's no longer competitive.

      • Hmm tell us more 🤔

        • +1

If you mean key sites I use gg.deals and allkeyshop which aggregate all the best deals, I've used many stores from these and they've never failed me. I'll still buy from Steam sales sometimes as it's more convenient, but they're rarely cheaper.

      • Yeah I play on pc mainly for this reason but some people want a console. This is why we need the steam machine!

Run dev mode and this could be an emulation power house?

Great minds think alike, 7 seconds apart haha.

  • Do you think it can run GTA Vi?

    • Yes. Probably at its lowest, 720p,30fps.

      • Hmm. Interested to buy, don't wanna wait the year wait for PC release and PS5 are just becoming more expensive. But at those resolution and frames…

        • +1

Just buy a second hand one closer to the date, even though prices have gone up there will be people buying it just for this game and selling afterwards, there will be a surplus of used consoles.
