i think still better than swift

      • +1

Correct, if you just go by crash scores. The Swift scored 67% in adult occupant protection vs 69% on this. However, Euro NCAP also found this:

“After the impact, the automatic door locking mechanism of the Box failed to unlock, potentially hindering first responders’ efforts to get to the occupants of the vehicle.”

I'm not sure I want to be in a car with lithium batteries that fails to unlock in an accident.

        • Yeah hard pass on that.

The Dongfeng Box scored 69% for adult occupant protection.

      Hehehehe

Note for anyone interested in this, the 3-star Euro NCAP rating is not applicable to NZ as we have a different spec to the European model and has been left unrated by NZTA and ANCAP so expect it to be worse than 3 stars

Two airbags is slightly better than my 2007
Land Rover Defender which only has one in the steering wheel and zero side impact protection (except the aluminium doors).

These safety tests are great for pressuring manufacturers to make cars safer. So many improvements over the last 20 years.

The best affordable EV is a second hand Tesla

    • I agree, you can get them quite cheap now and you get a lot for your money.
