S25 ultra through epp with free wireless chargers and cases and tags for $989 last week is feeling really good at the moment

    • dang missed that somehow. I assume its not available anymore?

  • +1

I bought the 25 Ultra last week, planned to upgrade from my 23 ultra.

for the pre-order on the 26 ultra (512), with a trade-in on my 23 ultra (512) brings the price down to $1336.75 (via epp)

sell the 25 ultra for more than purchase price .. = cheaper 26 ultra

    • Traded in my wife's s23 Ultra 256gb and got the s26 ultra 512gb for $1292.38 - on the main store.

      • +1

Actually I'm mistaken - I didn't realise there was a rewards point boost.

        I paid $1264.70
But I used $27.68 of points and they gave me a further $110.72 off in boosts.

So total was $1,403 in main store with a slightly worse trade in.

      • any other discounts? I am getting $1974 on the main store

        • +2

The two main codes they emailed out this morning, LNY26 and a 10% discount code from live chat.

I was having trouble adding all 4 at once, start with the 10% code then add the others

          • @Vish: I only got one code this morning kxr- what was the other you got?

            • +1

@Goldshot: GALAXY-S26B was in the same email as the kxr code

          • @Vish: How did you get the 10% code? Like what did you ask the live chat?

            • @MasterMamu66: Just ask for a 10% discount code as you're looking to buy the s26 ultra

            • @MasterMamu66: The samsung dude txtd me and asked me if i wanted a code. If ur after one dm me

    • Looking at upgrading also from S23 Ultra to S26 Ultra altough I struggle to see the value seeing as I do not use all the A.I features etc.

      • Yeah I was hoping to upgrade too from the 24 as I wanted more storage space - but don't think the codes/deals are that good this year

      • I’d imagine the ai stuff will make its way to older phones!

        • +1

Unlikely - how are they going to keep on selling us the same phone each year with out some 'new hot AI acronyms/feature' that we'll use once and never again.

          • @Vish: I actually think its likely, they push the new ai stuff on the older phs, older phs slow down because of it, need new ph.

            • @quote: Their current strategy is to make you get FOMO to update.
A lot of the AI features are hardware locked anyways, so it's not a simple software update. Even if it was a software update, outside of flagships, you're SOL after a few years.

              • @Vish: I had the s22 when the s24 came out, got the ai stuff that s24 had. Then had the s24 when the s25 came out same story. I have s25 now and bet it gets any ai s26 has so dnt see the hardware lock you talk of

                • @quote: Ya that's flagship phones though. Lower tier ones don't get as much love.

Also I'm on Apple personally, and they are notorious for hardware locking updates. Think iPhone 15 users were shit out of luck for the iPhone 17 AI upgrades.

      • Completely ignoring the AI its framatically better. Even the chip alone make that jump worth it

  • Any voucher codes for EPP store team?

  • look at what we had last year…

With all the code stacking and trade in boosts, I got my S25 for $114.32 (trading in my S24). Doing the same and trading in my S25 only brings the S26 down to $834.25. Crazy the difference a year can make.

      • Which are those codes please

        • +1

I was talking about last year but the discounts I used were 10% off first purchase via Samsung Shop app, $150 off unpacked registration code (CUV) and $50 off from the chat support person (LYZ) and trade in boosts from my S24.

    • I think they've changed their modelling where they used to be in line with the US and give a massive discount on trade-in and codes. Now they seem to be more in step with NZ retail, offering similar bonuses and discounts. I could get a burnt-out A3 and traded it in for an Ultra and only pay $900 or upgrade from my S24 to the 24+ for $60. But a lot of them were going on trademe and marketplace I wonder if they noticed?.

  • The lowest I managed to get is 500ish for a s26. Trade in s25

    • +1

Snapdragon to an exy, dunno if id do it for free

      • Haven't seen the retail unit benchmark but it shouldn't be too bad. It's the first 2nm CPU

        • Id wait a few months for real side by side reviews as benchmarks dont tell the whole story (overheating and worse battery life is what i mean).

Theres a dude on YouTube that usually buys both versions and does heaps of real life tests using both on the same day doing exactly the same on both and showing results

    • Is that for the 256gb version?

      • +1

Yup. It's really not enough of an upgrade to justify spending 300 let alone 5

  • Honestly looking at the Xiaomi phones after this.

Very little change to Samsung cameras this year from the last or the year before that. Just seems to be focussed on AI and little change.

Also difficult to get the pro level spec without the much larger ultra phone model. Liked how Apple put same spec cameras in pro and pro max phones so you could decide which form factor you wanted.

    • +1

Camera's haven't really changed in hardware since s22.

Chinese phones are innovating harder and surpassing in each area slowly.
