Looking at their drawers they're mostly particle board. If anyone's like me looking for furniture, Harbour Furniture I found probably have the best bang for buck, being rubber wood and priced the same as particleboard counterparts.

  • Having recently assembled a couch and TV unit for a friend, I can confidently say "you get what you pay for".

TV unit is cheap particle board that looks ok from a distance but will quickly wear. The dress panel on the front and draw fronts sit proud of the horizontal surfaces, which is a lot more noticeable in person. The fit can not be adjusted.
The light strip on the back is nice. It just a standard led strip off Aliexpress/Temu though. Could add that to any unit for $5.
It questionably holds it's rated load and you have to be super careful while moving as tiny forces in directions not expected (shuffling 50mm so the side for instance) will cause damage. Push from the bottom and don't have any load on it.

The couch is the most uncomfortable couch ever, even with additional cushions. It was easy to assemble and does seem quite sturdy.

The stuff works, it's cheap but the quality difference is noticeable immediately. If you're in this price bracket and don't need to replace immediately, I would recommend second hand premium items.

    • Second stuff may be better in some cases but also harder to find. Good stuff is usually snapped up fast. Have bought numerous items from TSB over the years and some worked out ok and some didn't. Also bought a similar bed frame that TSB would sell from Treasurebox and that's been our main bed frame now for over 5 years.

  • I've bought a couple of bed frames from here. They're cheap and look nice for the price, but the quality isn't great. May last a couple of years if you're lucky.

My parents also bought a bedframe for a spare room and the frame was broken after several uses in multiple places, to the extent it had to be discarded.

I think this was the one they bought: https://www.tsbliving.co.nz/collections/bed-frames/products/…

Would definitely not recommend buying beds from here, but maybe some other furniture is more durable.

  • Thanks for the reviews guys. Looks like Tsb is best avoiding.

  • Brought a large fully covered dog cage 5 m x 5 m and used it for a cat we were looking after it was fully covered, had a door and chain fencing. It was cheap and serve the purpose for a cat but I certainly wouldn't put a dog in it. The quality control was appalling as I had to do a lot of repairs on it to make it work. Just looking through the Shop most of the stuff is landfall a shocking indictment of the rubbish that's brought into the country just to be buried in a few years.

  • Decent stuff. They're porn panicking a bit after iKEA just opened
