  If I recall correctly when I was looking at the T&C's that you're just renting the kit for the duration of the plan.

  This deal is for a rental. You have to return it if you cancel the service.
  
  You can wait for another deal. There was one a couple months ago where the standard kit was like $159. You could've bought for $159, cancelled and then just held it for emergencies.
