Can we use a family pass more than once?

Yes, you can! Families can use the pass as many times as they like over the school holiday period- from 22 September to 5 October 2025

How many people can I use one pass for?

It's one pass per family (up to 2 adults and 4 kids). We understand that families come in all sizes so if your family/group is larger, we suggest another adult also downloads a pass and presents that as well.

How long does this promotion run?

The school holiday period - from Monday 22 September to Sunday 5 October 2025.

I don't have children, can I get the free travel

This is a special offer only available for families over the school holiday period.

Can I use this pass on the urban Hamilton buses (the green ones)?

Sorry, no - this is only valid on our regional (blue) services.

When is the school holidays?

From Monday 22nd September to Sunday 5th October 2025.

What if a passenger doesn’t have a phone or data and can’t access the pass?

You can head to the Transport Centre or one our local retailers (see list here) to pick up a printed copy of a pass to present! Or if you have a printer elsewhere, print the pass off and show it to the driver.

Nice. Thanks OP. Will take my son on his second ever bus ride.

  • I don't have children, can I get the free travel

This is a special offer only available for families over the school holiday period.

    • "We understand that families come in all sizes"
Seems a bit contradictory given they also seem to think that 'families' must include children.

      • Guess the key thing to note is that there's a strong focus on the school holidays (and therefore, children).

        • Yeah, that's fine - I've got no issue with a promotion being focused on children, nor on children accompanied by adults.
I just really dislike the way that the 'family' is often used in a way that makes it clear that people without children are not considered to be part of a family. Like when people ask 'do you have a family?' when what they really mean is 'do you have kids'? There are plenty of ways to have and be part of a family that don't involve having children.
