This coupon is mentioned on OZBargain except it has AU instead of NZ.
Works for monitors and some accessories I tried. Does not work for laptops and computers.

Brings already discounted price of that OLED monitor down another $150.
Better deal is to get a student account. Which gives 15% off and I finally bit the bullet and ordered this monitor for $1,154.40. Was hoping to combine student discount and that coupon but one appears to cancel the other. The post on OZBargain seems to imply this is possible. If anyone knows the hack that makes this work please share…

But I'm still waiting for my voucher. I used my .ac.nz email address.

I tried signing up as a parent. Haven't received the voucher.
So got it through my daughter's uni email. Registration was confirmed on the spot.

    An update.
I was able to use Topcashback - I use .au site - got credited $23.92 back.
You also get 3x Dell rewards dollars right now. With sign up credit this is now $98 something.
All up brings the cost to within few bucks of $1k.

  • They had Alienware PCs about four years ago via a range of crazy discounts for some reason. This post just reminded me to keep an eye on them as it might be time to upgrade.

    • Yep, got a free monitor out of it too for those that bought monitor in bundle. They advertised wrong bundle pricing and had to refund it later but you get to keep it.

  • Thanks, ordered one.

Thanks. $1208.78 after "$1 rounding adjustment" (?). Thanks also Nzruzzki for the Topcashback tip.
I added the 7% coupon that you get for signing up for Dell spam, just because one has to have a go doesn't one, and it removed the 11% DNCPNZ11 coupon as someone else said it would. But it also prevented DNCPNZ11 going back on again: "DNCPNZ11 is a valid coupon but the item in your cart does not qualify, or something, mumble". Removing the monitor and adding it back let DNCPNZ11 go back on again.

Now that I think about it, removing and re-adding the item from the card probably torpedoed the Topcashback refund.

    • RE Topcashback.
I got an email from Dell this morning that my payment didn't go through. The only thing that could have caused it is the cashback, I think.
Topcashback takes you to Dell au site which the refirects to NZ site. It does credit cashback pending but I now wonder if it does eventually come through…
I had to put the payment though the link provided in an email which worked fine btw

  • What's the best 4K monitors under 1K? Anyone can help?

    • Best to have high-refresh 144hz+, I dont mind IPS. Use for gaming and 2D and 3D design, Photoshop etc…

      • Is Alienware 27 Dual-Resolution Gaming Monitor - AW2725QF a good one?

    • You must have a reason to want 4k. Either you maxed out your graphics card or you are into graphics design or e.g. CAD.
In either scenario money should be no object.

Otherwise stick with (W)QHD. Plenty of resolution for size and most mid range graphics cards will give you playable refresh rates…

      • I'm thinking to get a 5070ti which is a mid range graphics cards?

        • Upper mid in my mind.
I've done some simple 2d and 3d designs on my WQHD and never thought I needed more resolution. But was tinkering. If you are a pro you will have an opinion…

If your mind is set on Nvidia then I would go with a g-sync monitor. I might have too high expectations but was never impressed by freesync with a handful of monitors I have had.
This Alienware will be my first g-sync monitor. The only thing is I switched to AMD cards :)
