Anyone knows if they allow people to use this in routers? That's really cheap home wifi if they allow it

    • Good idea!
There are ways around it if they don’t but I can’t think how they would block it?

      • +1

It would be fairly trivial for them to block it, but they don't seem to do so. I've been using the faster plan as a internet connection for my parents for 6 months or so, no issues.

        • How is the speed compared to Fibre connection? About the same?

          • +10

@shhuuu0328: Can't be same at all. Fiber is totally different league.

    • I haven't had any problems 😉

    • they should do, i use kogan for one site.

    • Its hard to setup

  • +1

    What network do they use?

    • +1

      One NZ

  • Great offer, shame its only for new customers, otherwise i would have updated my plan.

    • +4

      You might be able to
When you click on the deal there is a message underneath 'Get This Plan' that states:

      Already a customer?
Contact Support to get this offer

      • +9

I just did this, can confirm it works for new and existing customers.

        • +1

Awesome, I will check if any of my friends want to go into together.

        • Did you need support to apply it for you? Or does it just give you a voucher code to apply to your account?

  • hows the 10mbps plan?

    • Good if you don't want to stream youtube above 420p, which for mobile, I don't usually care about quality above that.

    • +1

When I used it, terrible. Couldnt even reliably stream tidal hifi over it which is well under 10 megabit. The extra spend for the mid tier plan was well worth it.

  • +5

Christ I was in the UK a couple weeks back got a monthly 35gb unlimited everything plan for 85p a month for six months. Lebara. This place is a rip.

    • +1

Those MSE plans are unsustainable, but I'm definitely signing up to one when we head over there next month. At that price I'll get one for both out phones and tablets.

    • +1

At our non-sale NZ prices, yeah. But the exceptions are deals like this from Mighty Mobile or Kogan.

Also worth mentioning after those 6 months, Lebara and similar UK providers will charge around $22 nzd per month for a plan like that.

With the regular deals from Kogan, and now maybe Mighty Mobile, you can pay a cheap price here in the long run without having to change providers every six months or so.

My brother just gets another 6 month plan and ports his number over. It really is crazy cheap over there.

        • with that logic, Kogan does 1 dollar a month new customer plans you can just sign up and port your number across?

          • +1

@Zyo: You need multiple nerworks offering that level of value to do it, you can't port to the same network. And every 6 months isn't quite as annoying as monthly.

Personally i prefer a long term cheap plan for my number to be consistent, then disposable plans adding data using the second sim or esim.

  • Not bad compared to kogan for unlimited

anyone have a spare faster or fastest plan? would be keen..currently on the fast plan

    • I'm getting a faster plan and have a spare one. Do you wanna share the cost?

    • If you keen for fastest plan then I am keen to buy one pair. Just need one plan for me. 0221011022

  • Does anyone know what the UI/UX of the portal is like? Wanting to make sure it's like Kogan and separated logins

    • Its using the same app style as contact/rocket mobile.

When i was using contact i had different sims under the email acc, you can just switch between olds and new to see details

      Kogan is different

  • Has anyone been able to port their existing number to Mighty Mobile eSim? Their help articles are terrible.

    • Yes it was seamless. Got up and running within 3 hours..ported out from an esim Contact to MM physical sim

      • Yeah, got it running in the end. The porting process refers to a number at the back of a physical SIM, which I didn't have (as I ordered an eSIM). But I managed to complete it using the ICCID sent via email.

  • Anyone want to share a faster plan? I am happy to make the purchase or you can. Contact me 02108271636

    • Will you be keen on fastest plan? 0221011022 Harry

    • Hey, did you find a buddy for the faster plan? Id be keen to share if still available

  • Thank you for it one for me and one for partner.
I had used my power company free 3months no contract mobile on mercury mobile and now will move to this one

  • Anyone know what the max speed is for mobile?

    • When I'm the unrestricted plan I did a speed test in sumner and was getting over 700mbps. So it's decent speeds.

      • 700 Wow, thank you.

  • +2

5% cashback with shopback if purchased today too.
