Thanks, got a $55 Uber Eats voucher for $5

    • +2

Same here, easiest $50 I've ever made!

    • Where are you getting the $55 voucher from?

        • They may have removed Uber from the store. Can't find it in app

          • @JustAnotherDude: Just opened the app. It's the first one that appears for me.

            • @Wakrak: Maybe they removed it for new accounts. No gift cards tab nor can I search for Gift Cards anywhere shame

              • @JustAnotherDude: So once youve spent your 51 minimum at whichever store do after pay take it off what you owe them kind of thing?
Imreluctant to spend the 51 for them to not pay it back or have no coupons left?

  • +1

Can you buy NZ e gift card s or use it to make a purchase overseas like in Australia?

    • +1

You can buy gift cards on the Afterpay app. In terms of overseas, depends on the store. You can use Afterpay on TEMU for example.

      • I must be an idiot. I can't find where the gift cards are. Even uber eats.

        • Are you using the app? On the shop page, I see a tag right at the top + a gift cards section further down. Perhaps it’s different for new members? screenshot

          • @Wakrak: @Wakrak, if I am buying an item thought the app. For example I am buying something from PB tech for $57 It is still asking me to pay $57 at the checkout. Do you know when afterpay will give me back the $50? Or will it simple only take the differnce of $7 from my credit card?

            • @shortwonder: If applied correctly, I imagine it would show $57 at checkout on PB Tech but then only add $7 debt to your Afterpay account.

              • +1

@Wakrak: Thanks, yeah I figured it out. Sometimes someone confirm just gives me that confidence when using a new service. Thanks again.

So you can (sort of) stack this with the friend referral codes… I just made new accounts for the wife and I, and used the GET50 code on both, then loaded her account with my friend referral. Brought two $55 Uber eats vouchers for $5 each, and two $50 ones at $30 each taking advantage of the friend referrals. Overall result $210 vouchers for $70 - damn good bloody good deal!

    • Thanks Wakrak you are a legend 👍👍

    • Can you buy $20 uber eats vouchers with the friend referral? Was there an order you had to buy the Vouchers in to utilize both referral credit and get50 for wife's account?

      • +1

You have to spend at least $50 for the referral vouchers to work. I activated the GET50 voucher first on the new account, then the referral voucher. It then made me use the referral voucher (for which the transaction needs to be $50 but it's $20 off). After that I was able to use the GET50 voucher for a second purchase.

        • +1

Oh you can activate the referral voucher after the GET50. Normally i would have thought you would need to activate the referral voucher first..
          Thanks!

    • I already have an account which I've used. Don't you have to give a valid id to create these accounts which also includes a credit check?
I don't think I will be able to create a new account to get this promo

      • Yeah by new accounts I meant entirely new ones - hadn't used afterpay before. Cheers

    • +2

Just did this too - great deal! You have to do two purchases, first is the Referral, second is the GET50. $105 uber credits for $15… good deal.

      • How did you manage to get a total cost of $15? I would have thought it would be $35, as the referral gets $20 off a $50 spend = $30 cost?

    • +1

Used the GET50 code. Tried to activate refferal code via cheapies but didn't seen to work

  • Sad to have missed this deal, only registered a month ago.

  • Thanks Wakrak

  • How does this affect your credit score?

    • I was asked about these BNPL during credit card application, so I closed the BNPL account before submitting my credit card application.
I guess they will include BNPL into your debt repaying abilities.

  • where do you apply the code ? it didnt come up in the cart with me (ios mobile)

    • +1

In app, bottom tray "My Afterpay"
      "Promos" button
      Enter a promo code: GET50

  • Thanks for sharing. :)

  • Do they have list of retailers where we can use this? Or just any retailer where afterpay is accepted?

    • is only available for use only at participating Afterpay retailers (excluding DoorDash, GoSeeTravel, Motorhome Republic, Airport Rentals, Kogan, Aussie Broadband, Wondershare, Zurich, Butter Insurance, Jetstar, Into the Wild Escapes, Equalution, Vitable and MOSH).

  • Can anyone confirm if this is still working for them? A friend just tried and said it's not working anymore, although it did work for me last night. Thanks all!

    • +1

Worked for me, used it couple hours ago.

      • thank you!

  • +2

I entered a referral code after entering GET50 and the purchase is only allowing me to select the $20 off (lesser value).

I’ve ended up making two purchases
$50 Uber Eats ($20 Referral Discount)
    $55 Uber Eats ($50 GET50 Discount)
So paid $35 all up for $105, not bad!

I’d recommend to maximise savings not entering a referral until you’ve made your first purchase.

    • +2

The referral won't work unless its the first purchase. I used the $50 one first and now the referral won't work.

      • Thought this was the case. Thanks for trying.

    • @jcrob111 , which promo did you use first?

      • I entered GET50 then the referral code.

        • great, same for me, but I thought if I use 20$ promo first , I won't be able to use GET50 later as it won't be first purchase per criteria.
I was afraid I contacted help to remove 20$ promo, so that I could use 50$ promo first, but no response yet

          • @A7g: So, which one should we use first then?

          • +1

@A7g: i made an account using my friends referral code then added GET50. I made two purchases from Chemist Warehouse, it would only let me use the referral code for the first order then it used the other in the second purchase.

I made sure to write down what i wanted for my second purchase just in case it would expire, so i did it in 3 minutes of eachother and it worked fine

    • Are you a brand new or existing customer?

      • I’m an existing customer~ just tried, still not valid

  • +1

Do you have to do a selfie during sign up? Do you have to take a photo of your NZ driver's licence or just enter the details ? Do they accept foreign passports or Realme as an id option?

    • +1

For me they wouldn't accept my ID(no reason given, maybe image quality) and asked for birth certificate/passport + utility bill with name/address on it

    • +1

You need a New Zealand driver's license and passport otherwise they will make you run around and get authorized documents signed by the JP etc.

  • +1

So, I managed to redeem the code and then had to get my account verified and that's where it all went pear shaped. Absolutely miserable company to deal with.

I uploaded my New Zealand driver's license and for some reason that was good enough, so I had to go through to their support and email it through again. That still wasn't good enough so they requested my passport, having only got New Zealand residence and not a New Zealand passport they then requested a New Zealand birth certificate (if I don't have a New Zealand passport how on earth am I supposed to have a New Zealand birth certificate) and proof of address, so I sent through my (not New Zealand) passport and a bank statement with address.

Still not good enough, now they want me to get all of these documents signed by a JP, so I told them to stick it where the sun don't shine.

Long story short, if you aren't a New Zealand citizen that is willing to give away your birth rights (and those of your first born), then you have to jump through 100 hoops to get your account authorized.

  • Thanks for the heads up. So you need to have a new Zealand passport otherwise they make you get your foreign passport and proof of address documents certified sounds like an inefficient way. Might wait 5 years to get NZ citizenship before applying. Anyone with an after pay ac from another country been able to transfer it over to a NZ one or just best apply for a new NZ one with a different email address and mobile?

  • +5

I signed up with my NZ driver licence. Didn't upload any document and no photo taken. Didn't ask for passport. Straight passed.

  • Just checking i can use this with temu? It says something about no overseas sites yet temu.is one of the stores listed in the shopback app.

  • So..
I made a mistake. I used this with temu and it hasnt taken the 50 off what i owe temu on the afterpay app.
As its my first purchsse i cant try to use thevode again can i?

    • Maybe hit up Afterpay and say you made a mistake?

      • Hi !
Yeah great idea.. i tried to contact them… no reply yet

  • If you’ve referred someone, take a look in Promos under My Afterpay. I just assumed that Afterpay would tell me that I had discounts available to use, but nah.
