  • Revolut has become the first financial technology company to receive a banking licence in New Zealand.

The Reserve Bank has granted the London-headquartered international payments platform the licence after a two-year application process.

The licence will enable “Revolut Bank New Zealand” to hold deposits and participate in the Reserve Bank’s Depositor Compensation Scheme, which guarantees $100,000 of deposits per depositor.

  • Are there any plans to release a credit card in NZ, along with the higher Revpoints earning rates? Thanks

  • Been with them since they entered the country and they're pretty comparable to Wise. Being a registered bank is pretty good now for the deposit schema guarantee.
