It's one of their email subscriber only coupons.

I've got 2 that I can send to someone who needs one.

    • It's a coupon emailed to jbhifi mailing list subscribers. Sorry, I should've made it clearer. I have one that I won't be using. Message me if interested.

      • Ah yup, just like the previous deals we've seen. Cheers. Just bought a 750d though, should have bought body only and stole the 18-55 lens off this :P

      • hey sam, any chance you have a voucher still avaliable?

        • Looks like Shaw is sending you one. If anyone needs my voucher, it's still available.

  • Anyone have any knowledge / insight on the camera itself?

    • +2

Not a master photographer so I don't know what kind of answer you expect, but I bought this plus 2 lenses a few years ago and coming from point + shoot camera's I was extremely happy with it. Battery lasts hundreds of shots (500+), spares are cheap to pick up, all the settings are there and the focus with AF lens is extremely quick and accurate. For $400 I would recommend as an excellent investment on better quality photos and entry into DSLR. However if you already have a DSLR, then perhaps not so great as I believe it is the entry level model.

      • Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

        • Keep in mind a lot of cost/value with a DSLR is the lenses are interchangeable so you can get larger and smaller lenses than the one included, as well as for different purposes. So if you decide you want to get into photography further, you could sell the body of this one, and use any EF-S lenses you bought for this with other APS-C canon cameras, such as the higher model 750D or 70D.

    • I'm currently using a Nikon DSLR (I have the D3300 and D7200), a few of my friends have this. It's a great little camera, smaller than the big chunky Canon 70D (of course, different level of camera). I agree with Toddy, for this price, it's a great deal if it is your first DSLR. Entry level DSLR have more 'auto' mode than the more advance one, so you can slowly learn and pick up the knowledge when taking photos. This is definitely better than point and shoot camera. If you do get it, I'll recommend you to get the Canon 50mm 1.8 STM prime lens to advance your photography skill. The only reason not to get this camera is if you're going to Aussie and don't mind buying a DSLR there (cheaper thanks to tax refund).

  • Anyone got a coupon. Please PM. thanks

    • Yup, will respond to your PM.

  • any chance someone could email me a coupon, would be very keen to pick one of these up!

    • Send me a PM, and I will reply with my last one shortly.

      Sent, both gone.

  • I have the coupon if anyone is wanting one

  • Hard to beat at the price. This one isn't magic lantern hacked to the best of my knowledge, so you're stuck with the limited firmware capabilities canon give you. Entry level canons feel pretty light and plasticy, but this would be ideal for a school student I expect.

    • Agreed. Would be good for the 'general' public too, unless you're into photography. I wonder if other retailer would price match this (Noel Leeming perhaps?)

      • They probably won't as it is a coupon.

  • Anyone has got spare coupon? Would be interested to grab one… Many thanks :)

    • +1

      Still need one?

  • Would also love a spare coupon, thanks!

    • I'll send you a PM with my coupon. :)

      • I just sent him one 30 minutes ago, hopefully he'll let us know which one he's using.

        • +1

I hadn't send it yet so I'll just leave it. Thanks :)

        • @Wellington: Thanks guys, both not required, please pass on!

  • Hi all, anyone still got a coupon for this deal?

  • Mine is still available as well.
