Always possible to see a 99c deal again, but I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.

I suspect a lot of people who had been members for many years (fifteen or so in our case - back to when it was physical books of vouchers) let their memberships lapse during the lockdowns, and that offer was an attempt to get (some of) them back.

I usually look at the 'vouchers', consider where we would be very likely to dine out over the next six months or so, and if there is an almost certainty of getting our money back on a single use (or thereabouts) then I go for it. Pretty sure in the (fifteen or so) years we've subscribed, we've never failed to get more value than we paid, and we never go anywhere that we would not be going anyway, with or without the vouchers, but obviously you mileage may vary!

For the cost of $70 with free upgrade, $30 grocery voucher and 20% going to charity this is a great offer. Thanks for sharing

  • Previous offer is better for 12 month and 24 month

  • Thank you, great offer

  • Does anyone know if there is an offer for the Sky Tower in this book? I can't see it browsing on their website but it seems crazy that there isn't one for it.

    • They've removed the Sky Tower, it's not in there anymore :(

Holy shit, I'm sure that would have been in the news or something? How do Aucklanders navigate now?

    Are these actually worth it?

Back when they did the books they were but not so much since moving to the app. The app is terrible and they don’t have half the great deals they used to have.

Always (as far as I can remember) for us - see my previous post above.

It has to depend entirely on your habits though, nobody else can offer a useful answer for you specifically.

Worth it for me too. Even without planning, I have often been halfway through a dinner, randomly think to check the app and being pleasantly surprised it's in there.

Yep - we've done that many a time too!

Yes, especially if you share with people in other cities and split the cost. Just need to use a few activity deals or get some free main meals and the cost is covered.

  • Thanks OP for posting and Alan6984 for your insightful comments,
I used to buy membership quite a few years ago but then had kids.. They are getting older now and we are getting out and about again so this will be useful, Seems there are not as many places on there as there used to be but 3 of the places we frequent occasionally are so should pay for itself in one visit with a free meal, and then we will be ahead.

  • I miss the abundance of free coffee that used to be in the book. We used to be able to get buy one get one free coffee at so many places, but now it's few and far between getting that anymore. Really don't think we will be renewing ours unless it's a great deal at some point as we really aren't getting the use we used to from it.
